Su Ruhui didn’t care about some pet module, only asking: “The information you’re sharing with me, is it truly something I don’t already know?”

【No deceptions.】

I can choose anyone? Su Ruhui questioned again.

【You can even choose a dog.】

This crappy system, just like Su Ruhui, loved to spout meaningless nonsense. The secrets it might reveal were probably just boring things like impotence or hemorrhoids, and Su Ruhui had absolutely no interest in knowing any of that. Whose secrets were more reliable to hear? Su Ruhui pondered, stroking his chin. The system would definitely tell him something he didn’t know, but if the scope of this “unknown” was extremely narrow, who knows what useful information the system could possibly provide.

Su Ruhui had an idea and said: “Tell me a secret about me.”

Regarding himself, there were quite a few things he didn’t know. For example, what exactly was that heart core in his body in his previous life? This question plagued him throughout his short life. He exhausted every means to trace its origins, and finally found some clues in the Snowlands, but because the secret sect imprisoned him in the Immortal’s Cave, he died without uncovering the truth. Perhaps the system could tell him the answer.

【Secret Intelligence Report: Su Ruhui, you are not human.】

Su Ruhui: “…”

Su Ruhui felt offended. His first reaction was that the lousy system had insulted him, but his second reaction was that his first reaction was wrong. The system had been with him for many years, and he knew its temperament. The system saying “you are not human” wasn’t an insult, but rather meant that Su Ruhui, in a racial sense, did not belong to the category of humans.

This really was a huge motherfucking secret.

He’s not human, so what is he?

However, he soon realized that the choice of the person “Su Ruhui” was ambiguous. He was a person who had been resurrected in another’s body. “Su Ruhui” could refer to the previously deceased Su Ruhui, or it could refer to A-Qi, the thug from the Paradise Pavilion whose body he now inhabited. Who exactly was the “not human” one— Su Ruhui or A-Qi?

He asked this question.

【Secret intelligence report complete. The system cannot provide an answer. Host, please rely on your own abilities.】

Your fucking grandfather. Su Ruhui inwardly rolled his eyes.

The puppet horse carriage carried them back to the border capital, passing through the main street and entering the imperial city. The majestic palace of the Secret Sect appeared in their view through the window. They entered the imposing gate, where countless soldiers stood with their blades drawn. Fine snow fell on them without melting, making them look like rows of ice sculptures from afar. Su Ruhui leaned out, shading his eyes with his hand to gaze into the distance. At the edge of his vision stood the most magnificent palace in the border capital, Beichen, where the mysterious grandmaster Dantai Jing sat, holding the fate of all under the Heavens in his hands.

Long ago, Sang Chiyu also walked through that dark rock corridor. He was Dantai Jing’s head disciple, a master of the saber, and of noble and extraordinary bearing. But because of this, no one dared to approach him. They said he was Dantai Jing’s blade, striking down rebellious officials and traitors, leaving a river of blood wherever he went. Su Ruhui saw his figure countless times. While others gathered in groups of two or three, he was always alone, appearing incredibly solitary and insignificant beneath the vast palace.

The carriage turned and rumbled into another part of the city, proceeding down a snow-covered straight road. It gradually slowed down, finally stopping at a guard post. A black plaque with gold lettering hung high above the official building, bearing the inscription “Eagle Guard.” Su Ruhui knew this guard post. The Secret Sect had three star officials and thirteen subordinate guards, and the Eagle Guard was the last of the thirteen, responsible for patrolling, apprehending criminals, and executing traitors and rebels. Sang Chiyu had previously served in this post, but for some unknown reason, he held a rank but no official position, had neither superiors nor subordinates, and reported directly to the grandmaster.

The guide led them into the courtyard, which was filled with soldiers both inside and out. The atmosphere was thick with tension and felt like they were on high alert. Su Ruhui had a bad feeling. Did they know he was an undercover agent from the Underworld and directly brought him here for interrogation?

Down in the courtyard, a medical officer carrying a medical kit came forward.

The system provided his information:【Chief urologist of the Secret Sect, specializing in treating erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and various STDs (sexually transmitted diseases). It is recommended that the host comply with all directives issued by this urological expert.】

The medical officer said: “Take off your clothes.”

Su Ruhui froze. “Take off my clothes?”

Su Yu was clearly not expecting to be asked to undress right away. He frowned slightly and asked: “Why?”

The medical officer unfolded a velvet cloth bag, revealing gleaming silver needles inside. He explained: “Military officers must be in excellent physical condition. If you have any strange ailments, the guards won’t accept you.”

“I’ve never heard of this rule in the past.” Su Ruhui remarked.

“Well we have it now.” The medical officer urged him, “Take it all off. Not a single piece of clothing left.”

“Right here?” Su Ruhui looked around at the frozen landscape. “Can we go inside? It’s freezing out here.”

The medical officer put down the acupuncture needles, his face full of impatience, “What’s a grown man afraid of the cold for? Hurry up and take your clothes off.”

“A screen.” Su Yu spoke up.

“What?” The medical officer asked.

“Give us a screen.” Su Yu said with a frown.

“So fussy.” The medic beckoned, and a few soldiers carried in a screen, placing it in the open space.

Su Yu moved to the other side of the screen and lowered his head to unbutton his collar. Su Ruhui had no choice but to follow suit and undress. He took off his padded robe, then his cotton trousers, and then his underrobes. He piled them one by one on the chair, stamping his feet and exhaling forcefully, shivering from the cold. Through the screen, he could only see Su Yu’s slender silhouette. Su Ruhui couldn’t help but wonder, with the screen placed in the open air, it only separated him from Su Yu. Wouldn’t the other soldiers still be able to see the boy’s naked body?

Su Ruhui belatedly realized that Su Yu didn’t want him to see him.

“Take your underwear off too.” The medical officer said

“Do I have to!?” Su Ruhui was about to collapse.

“To see if you have any STDs. If you do, the Secret Sect won’t take you.”

The medical officer urged them on, so Su Ruhui had no choice but to untie even his underwear. The two butt naked boys stood in the snow, feeling incredibly awkward. The only consolation was that everyone around them was male, which made Su Ruhui feel like his skin had become a layer thicker.

The medical officer said: “What’s there to be shy about? In my eyes, you’re nothing but pig meat. Just think of yourselves as pork.”

The medical officer examined them one by one, pricking them with needles, then had them sit down to tap their knees, repeatedly asking, “Does it hurt?” and “Does it feel sore?”

They answered one by one, and the medical officer seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. He heated the silver needles over a candle flame and said: “Alright, you two are in good health. Exercise regularly and avoid alcohol. However, you, the young man surnamed Jiang, seem to have some kidney deficiency. Other than that, there’s nothing serious. Go inside and report for duty.”

Su Ruhui was so angry he was about to spit blood. His kidneys were perfectly fine! This was definitely a quack doctor.

【Through the system’s authority, the evaluation confirms he is not a quack doctor.】

Su Ruhui cursed furiously: Go die!
