Chapter 50 - 1#

The game room was the innermost room on the right on the second floor.

Pushing open the door, what came into view were several dance machines, as well as a row of classic old-style arcade games of different models. Five LCD TVs for gaming were hung on the wall.

This game room was about 100 square meters.

Yan Heqing had never seen these things. His gaze swept across the room. On the left wall, there were two gashapon machines that looked out of place, and a claw machine filled with dolls.

Lin Fengyi came in and saw Yan Heqing looking at the gashapon machines and the claw machine. He coughed loudly, pressed his fist against the corner of his mouth, and said with a slightly drifting voice, “Those are for Zhizhi to play with.”

However, Yan Heqing didn’t react at all. He lifted his foot and walked to Lin Fengxian’s side.

Lin Fengyi’s expression stiffened slightly, and he snorted disdainfully in his throat.

Lin Fengxian was squatting, pulling open the cabinet under the LCD TV. The ten-meter-long drawer was filled with a dazzling array of game discs.

Thinking that Yan Heqing had never played games before, Lin Fengxian wanted to find a game that was easy to pick up.

It was just that he rarely played games. While rummaging, he called out to Lin Fengyi, “Second brother, recommend a three-player battle game, simple and easy to learn.”

Lin Fengyi leaned against the TV wall, arms crossed, staring at Yan Heqing’s back, and snorted coldly a few times. “Who plays battle games that are simple? If you want simple, go play Zhizhi’s claw machine.”

Lin Fengxian frowned slightly. His second brother wasn’t usually like this. Why was he acting like he ate gunpowder today, speaking so sarcastically?

Just as he was about to scold him, Yan Heqing pointed to a game disc. “How about this one?”

Lin Fengyi craned his neck to look.

Lin Fengxian pulled it out directly. It was called Death Forest.

An old multiplayer battle game, popular when he was in elementary school.

The background story was very simple. A group of mercenaries from different factions fought fiercely in the Death Forest, grabbing equipment and health packs, dealing with enemies, and eliminating teammates. Only the sole winner could take all the supplies and escape the forest.

Lin Fengyi also glimpsed the game disc.

Death Forest…

The operation of this game was five-star level, and it was one of his favorite games.

Lin Fengzhi had played with him a few times, and every time he was beaten to tears by him, so he stopped playing in a fit of pique.

No choice, a brother is a brother, a game is a game.

He wouldn’t show mercy.

Influenced by what he saw and heard, Lin Fengzhi’s level in most games was considered not bad, yet he dared not play Death Forest with him again. What the hell could a game noob like Yan Heqing do?

Lin Fengyi kindly reminded him for once, “You’d better change to another one. If you play this one and lose to tears, I won’t be responsible.”

Lin Fengxian also felt that Death Forest wasn’t suitable for beginners. His most showy moment playing this game was when there were many people, and he got to team up with Lin Fengyi. They cooperated to wipe out the opposing side, and then he turned around and got headshot by Lin Fengyi.

Playing against Lin Fengyi, there was zero gaming experience.

Although playing Death Forest was indeed exciting.

Lin Fengxian was about to put it back. “How about playing Crazy Racing? It’s also very exciting.”

Yan Heqing curled the corners of his mouth slightly. “Let’s just play this one.”

The game disc was put into the console, and three LCD TVs were turned on. Lin Fengxian sat cross-legged in the middle, with Yan Heqing and Lin Fengyi on his left and right respectively.

Soft floor mats were spread on the warm floor, and there were also a few small low tables. Mother Lin brought a few plates of fresh-cut fruits, snacks, and freshly squeezed vegetable juice.

Lin Fengyi complained, “No way, vegetable juice? I want Coke—”

He sat cross-legged, and Mother Lin tapped his head lightly. “Drink less Coke, vegetable juice is healthy.”

Lin Fengyi muttered, “Healthy doesn’t mean tasty…”

Mother Lin smiled and asked Yan Heqing, “Heqing, what do you want to eat for dinner? I’ll tell the chef on my way down.”

Lin Fengyi sneered in his heart. Yan Heqing, this kind of good student who was best at pretending to be obedient on the surface, would definitely say he wasn’t picky.

As a result, the boy’s voice was clear and bright.

“Can you make pineapple shrimp fritters?”

Lin Fengyi, “…” He picked up the vegetable juice and took a big gulp unhappily.

Mother Lin smiled. “Of course, we have both shrimp and pineapple.” She helped them close the curtains, leaving only two low-wattage lights on the wall. Playing dark night games was particularly atmospheric.

She turned back to the door to close it. “Have fun, I’ll call you when the food is ready.”

The screen displayed the background introduction, and a few minutes later jumped to character selection.

With just three people, usually, each would choose a different faction.

Lin Fengyi peeled a candy and threw it into his mouth, choosing the faction with the most difficult operation. From the corner of his eye, he looked past Lin Fengxian and glanced at Yan Heqing.

He only saw Yan Heqing’s side profile.

Yan Heqing’s temperament was cold, causing many people to overlook that his contours were extremely sharp, and his jawline was like an obliquely inserted straight line.

The dim light fell on his long and thick eyelashes, giving a feeling that he was really fighting seriously on the battlefield.

Lin Fengyi sucked on the candy lazily and suddenly said, “I’ll let you guys have a handicap. You two team up against me.”

Lin Fengxian adjusted the controller and complained about him, “Don’t be arrogant. Today it’s 1v1 to wipe you out.”

Lin Fengyi didn’t reply. He was waiting for Yan Heqing’s answer.

Yan Heqing didn’t reply, but on the screen, he chose a different faction from Lin Fengxian.

“Crack.” The candy shattered instantly. Lin Fengyi chewed the candy heavily, deciding to teach Yan Heqing a good lesson today.

What it means to slap one’s face to look fat (pretend to be capable), one also has to choose the occasion!

The three finished selecting characters and entered the plot.

The main perspective of the three screens was connected to the controllers. It was Yan Heqing’s first time playing, but the controller markings were simple. He got the hang of it after a little operation.

Soon, a few minutes into the game, he was headshot by Lin Fengyi.

Lin Fengyi glanced at him, still having some candy bits in his mouth, chewing slowly. “I told you to team up.”

Lin Fengxian turned his face and said to Yan Heqing, “It’s okay, you’re doing pretty well. The first time I played, I didn’t even know how to walk. The first round counts as getting familiar, you’ll get it after a few more tries.”

Yan Heqing smiled.

Lin Fengxian was also soon ambushed from behind by Lin Fengyi and fell to the ground with one shot.

The game reloaded and started again.

Lin Fengyi was long tired of playing, but today he played with special enthusiasm, catching Yan Heqing to headshot.

It was so obvious that Lin Fengxian saw it, secretly kicked him, and warned with his eyes, “Don’t go too far.”

Lin Fengyi pretended not to see.

It wasn’t that he didn’t offer a handicap. In the first round, he offered to let Yan Heqing team up, but he insisted on pretending to be capable.

Then be prepared to be crushed.

After a few more rounds like this, Lin Fengxian also got a bit anxious from dying. Every round he played with excitement, only to be taken out by Lin Fengyi. It was too frustrating!

He gave up. Let’s change the game.

After dying again, another “Ah!” sounded on the screen immediately after.

This was the sound effect of a player dying.

Lin Fengxian didn’t look at the screen, thinking Yan Heqing had also died. He turned his head and said, “Heqing, how about—”

His voice stopped abruptly.

His gaze moved to the screen.

The character wearing camouflage was still standing.

This was Yan Heqing’s interface.

He wasn’t lying down, so the one lying down was—

Lin Fengxian exclaimed in surprise, “You beat the second brother!”

Yan Heqing held the controller, his face slightly turned, and said calmly, “Good luck.”

Indeed, just now when Lin Fengyi killed him, he also exposed his position. But this was the first time someone had taken out Lin Fengyi! Lin Fengxian immediately gave a thumbs up. “Luck is also not bad, right second brother?”

He turned to ask Lin Fengyi.

The faint light of the screen fell on Lin Fengyi’s face. He stared incredulously at the character lying on the ground in front, his eyes twitching slightly.

Bullshit!

It wasn’t luck at all!

Before taking out Lin Fengxian, he had already found a hiding spot. He was also exploiting the perspective. The only chance to take him out was the second he hid.

Clearly, Yan Heqing judged his movement, timed the long-range shot perfectly, and took him out directly.

Lin Fengyi immediately turned his head to look at Yan Heqing. Yan Heqing was drinking water, and even drinking water was so calm… giving a feeling that he controlled everything.

It was this look!

What he hated most was this look of Yan Heqing being disdainful of him!

It was like this when rolling dice in the bar, and it was like this when threatening him on the sidewalk early in the morning!

An even more infuriating thought popped up.

In the previous rounds, could it be that Yan Heqing deliberately let him headshot him to analyze his operation and use him as an experience pack???
