Chapter 30#

Noob#

Du Minsheng calmly refused: “No, no thanks.”

“Alright then,” Mo Xuzhi put down the glass and replied, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up.”

“Yeah,” Du Minsheng nodded, then realized Mo Xuzhi couldn’t see him through the phone, and added, “See you tomorrow.”

“See you tomorrow.”

Mo Xuzhi hung up.

The lights in the office stayed on for half the night.

The security guard at the gate had already gone to sleep. Wang Zhifeng swiped his card and entered the office.

Under the cold white light, a figure slumped over a pile of documents was particularly noticeable.

Mo Xuzhi had fallen asleep at some unknown point.

His left fingers were still on the keyboard, and his right hand still loosely held a pen. His grip was light, and the pen looked like it was about to fall.

Wang Zhifeng approached and gently took the pen from his hand.

Mo Xuzhi seemed to sense something and moved slightly. His loosely tied hair became even more disheveled, covering his eyes.

Without touching the documents on the desk or even changing the layout, Wang Zhifeng let Mo Xuzhi lean against him and half-carried him toward the lounge.

Mo Xuzhi used to pull all-nighters here frequently. Over time, he had simply cleared out a sofa here to serve as a temporary bed, so he could rest if he got tired.

Although the hardware was provided, Mo Xuzhi had barely used it a few times. Those few times were only to check the environment or to see if there was a place to stack his pile of books.

At least, that’s how the previous Mo Xuzhi was. He had infinite energy and passion, often pulling all-nighters, yet looking energetic the next day and greeting him with a smile.

The other researchers thought he arrived early; in reality, only Wang Zhifeng knew that he had never left.

But Mo Xuzhi had been a bit different these past few days.

He still pulled all-nighters as frequently as before, but his condition was clearly worse.

At least, he had unconsciously fallen asleep during several of these overtime sessions.

He still had that drive, but perhaps due to physical reasons or something else, he wasn’t able to smile and greet him after an all-nighter like before.

Wang Zhifeng settled Mo Xuzhi in the lounge, then turned back to tidy up his desk. He separated the processed documents from the unprocessed ones, leaving the rest untouched.

“Wang Zhifeng, my files…”

A faint, somewhat muffled voice came from the lounge. Wang Zhifeng finished categorizing the documents, labeled them, and put them back in their original places.

He found a blanket and covered the half-awake, unfocused Mo Xuzhi, saying, “Sleep peacefully, the files are still here.”

Mo Xuzhi trusted Wang Zhifeng implicitly. Perhaps he really heard him, as he fell back into a deep sleep.

When he woke up again, it was already dawn, and he was in a car heading back to Wanwan Town.

The driver was a gentle-looking middle-aged man who greeted Mo Xuzhi and gave a brief explanation.

Wang Zhifeng had packed everything Mo Xuzhi needed for the return to Wanwan Town, thinking that if he took a car, he could get some more sleep on the way—it was better than being woken up by the sound of helicopter rotors.

“Professor Wang originally wanted to see you off, but he suddenly had to fly to City A to accept an award on behalf of the Academy of Science. He asked me to tell you to stay safe. The weather is unpredictable lately, so he packed a few extra jackets and hoodies for you to change into when it gets cold.”

Mo Xuzhi nodded.

“Professor Wang really knows how to take care of people,” the driver chuckled. “It’s almost like raising a child.”

The driver’s description was quite apt.

Mo Xuzhi’s action of drinking water paused, and he almost choked.

The car drove forward for a long time until the buildings of Wanwan Town appeared ahead.

After driving onto the gravel road, the driver carefully steered the wheel, driving side-by-side with another car.

The road wasn’t wide and the surface was poorly paved, so both cars slowed down simultaneously.

The window of the car opposite was open. Mo Xuzhi turned his head to look at the scenery and saw Shen Le sitting in the back seat.

His lips were pursed, and he looked to be in a bad mood. The driver drove slightly faster.

Mo Xuzhi also noticed that the person in the driver’s seat had changed.

Assistant Li, who was usually fixed in that position, had been replaced by a tall, thin middle-aged man, and everything inside the car had been replaced as well.

In a sense, Assistant Li and Xue Feng were both men of action.

Mo Xuzhi withdrew his gaze and closed the window.

He and Shen Le arrived at the villa at the same time.

The program crew had already received the news, and several staff members were standing at the entrance. Du Minsheng and Luo Wenyun stood behind them, watching as the two cars parked one after the other.

Perhaps not wanting to be overtaken by Mo Xuzhi and the others, the new driver stepped on the gas as they arrived, pulling ahead of them.

Shen Le was the first to get out of the car.

The new driver also got out and opened the trunk to help him with his luggage. Shen Le had a dark expression; he glanced at the people around him and finally gave a slight nod and said thanks.

Luo Wenyun and Du Minsheng, standing behind the crowd, looked up.

Luo Wenyun naturally walked to Shen Le’s side. Shen Le gave him a forced smile, his expression looking somewhat aggrieved for a moment.

Luo Wenyun asked, “What’s wrong?”

Shen Le glanced around and, seeing that the staff were some distance away, finally said, “I’m not playing with Xue Feng anymore.”

Luo Wenyun knew that Shen Le knew Xue Feng and that they had a good relationship. Although uninterested, he still asked, “Did something happen?”

Shen Le shook his head and didn’t say, only his eyes silently reddened.

Yesterday, when he went to the old Xue family residence, he didn’t stay in the room the old butler had arranged for him, but chose a very comfortable-looking guest room instead.

The old butler agreed, changed the bedding for him, and moved the things originally placed in his assigned room to this one.

He originally wanted to put some of his small items into a drawer, but then he saw a blue velvet box in the corner of the drawer.

He opened it and took a look.

Inside was a necklace, set with a sapphire, looking classical, exquisite, and steady.

He remembered this necklace.

When he was abroad, he had seen reports about it, saying that this necklace, which had been handed down by nobility in the last century, was being auctioned and had been bought by someone for an astonishingly high price.

He just didn’t expect that person to be Xue Feng.

The old butler had said he could choose any room, and the things in the room were prepared for him.

He thought this was a gift Xue Feng had prepared for him, so he put it on.

Xue Feng, who had originally said he had no time, still rushed back in the evening.

The lights came on in the dark room. He took off his suit jacket and walked over.

He saw Shen Le wearing the necklace.

Shen Le opened his mouth, originally wanting to ask Xue Feng to help him put it on, but saw the man standing at the door looking down at him and asking:

“Why is this with you?”

Shen Le paused.

He didn’t dare to think about what Xue Feng meant. His hand putting on the necklace froze in mid-air and didn’t move for a long time.

Xue Feng didn’t make a sound, as if waiting for his answer.

Shen Le turned his head and forced a smile: “Wasn’t this originally a gift you gave me… Sorry, the butler said everything here was for me, so I…”

Xue Feng didn’t have the patience to listen to him finish and repeated, “I’m asking you why this is with you.”

“Found it in the drawer, it looked untouched, I thought it was from you…”

“It’s not for you.”

Xue Feng’s words were crisp and neat, leaving no room for Shen Le to argue.

Shen Le stuffed the necklace back into the box all at once.

Xue Feng then took out his phone and made a call, but the other party didn’t pick up.

His expression was irritable. He closed the door and left, looking like he was still trying to get through.

Shen Le sat in the room looking at the layout. The decor he had liked before suddenly became an eyesore no matter how he looked at it.

He requested to move back to his original room.

The old butler also learned about this mix-up and, knowing that a large part of it was his fault, didn’t dare to complain and directed the servants to move the things back to the original room.

He also brought out another box containing a men’s bracelet studded with diamonds. The bracelet reflected the light from the crystal lamp, looking exceptionally dazzling.

The old butler said, “That was a misunderstanding just now. The Master bought a gift for you. He spent all day picking out this bracelet.”

His words were half-true.

Xue Feng had indeed prepared a gift for Shen Le. Price-wise, the bracelet was indeed expensive, and someone had indeed run around all day for it.

It just wasn’t Xue Feng; it was Xue Feng’s assistant.

Shen Le glanced at the bracelet and didn’t accept it.

The old butler kept trying to persuade him from behind, but he ultimately didn’t take it and went upstairs on his own.

He heard the old butler whisper behind him:

“Strange, he didn’t take the necklace away…”

Shen Le’s hand gripping the railing tightened.

—That necklace was a gift from Xue Feng to someone else.

That person had even been here and stayed at the old Xue residence.

Shen Le had a lot on his mind and prepared to leave early the next morning after staying one night at the old Xue residence.

Xue Feng didn’t look to be in a very good mood either. He looked like he hadn’t rested all night, still wearing the shirt he had on when he returned yesterday, with his tie half-loosened and hanging sloppily.

He didn’t say much and sent a driver to take him back to Wanwan Town.

This one-day holiday was very different from what Shen Le had imagined.

“I’m not playing with Xue Feng anymore.”

Mo Xuzhi heard Shen Le say this just as he opened the car door. As if to confirm these words, a call came in right after Shen Le finished speaking.

Mo Xuzhi lowered his hand that was about to open the door and glanced at his phone.

It was from Xue Feng.

Fine.

Mo Xuzhi sighed and answered the call.

Xue Feng’s opening line was a mysterious: “Why didn’t you take it away?”

“What?”

“The necklace,” Xue Feng said, “the sapphire necklace you asked me for, why didn’t you take it?”

“Oh, that,” Mo Xuzhi said, “I got tired of looking at it, I don’t want it anymore.”

He answered quickly, but in reality, he had no memory of any sapphire necklace sent by Xue Feng.

He hadn’t really looked at the gifts Xue Feng sent him. When he was following the plot, he would just name an item according to the original script, but he didn’t actually know what the physical object looked like, let alone remember a sapphire necklace clearly.

He was careless this time. He thought it was a hassle when packing and didn’t take these things, not expecting Xue Feng to dig them out.

There weren’t many things; they should have been taken together to the house Xue Feng gave him. After the plot was finished, he would return the house along with these things to Xue Feng; it would be more convenient.

Fortunately, it was just a necklace, and he could talk his way out of it.

There was silence on the other end of the phone.

Mo Xuzhi waited for a long time, and without hearing a word from Xue Feng, he felt it was a waste of time. He said “Goodbye” and hung up, then opened the car door.

Seeing Mo Xuzhi emerge from the car, Du Minsheng’s gaze, which had been fixed on the distant scenery, instantly shifted to him.

He walked toward Mo Xuzhi.

Seeing Mo Xuzhi get out, the driver uncle also opened his door to help with the luggage.

“Uncle, you don’t need to get out, I can get it myself.” Mo Xuzhi leaned against the car and tapped on the window, “Can you open the trunk?”

The driver still wanted to get out.

“The luggage is light, I can carry it.” Mo Xuzhi smiled at the driver’s clumsy attempts to unbuckle his seatbelt, “Don’t let my appearance fool you, I’m quite strong.”

The driver looked at Mo Xuzhi’s thin frame and his eyes, not believing him, and asked, “How do you know the suitcase is light?”

“Wang Zhifeng packed it, so it’s definitely light.” Mo Xuzhi smiled and said, “Didn’t you say earlier that he’s like he’s raising a child?”

When he and Wang Zhifeng went abroad for an exchange before, they needed to pack. He was lazy, so Wang Zhifeng packed for him. It was only when he picked up the suitcase that he realized it was light, yet everything inside was complete.

The driver had no choice and finally opened the trunk for him.

Then he watched as Mo Xuzhi easily lifted the suitcase and walked a circle in front of him.

It really was.

“Thanks, Uncle,” Mo Xuzhi waved to the driver, “Goodbye.”

The driver also smiled and waved back, “Goodbye.”

The black silhouette of the car disappeared from sight. Mo Xuzhi turned around and saw Du Minsheng coming his way.

He took the initiative to greet him, his smile as fresh as the morning breeze sweeping through the fields, “Good morning.”

Du Minsheng stopped and also showed a smile, “Good morning.”

“Welcome back.”

Luo Wenyun watched the two walk away.

Mo Xuzhi and Du Minsheng chatted as they went upstairs.

Nothing much happened during their day off. The program crew didn’t stir up trouble either, only issuing some small tasks for a limited number of people, like pulling weeds or fishing, to let the guests feel the charm of pastoral scenery and spark some ambiguous chemistry.

Mo Xuzhi asked, “So what did you do yesterday?”

Du Minsheng paused for a moment and looked away, “Luo Wenyun and I went to pull weeds. The rest of the time I stayed in my room or went to the fields to gather inspiration.”

From his expression, Mo Xuzhi knew something must have happened during the weed-pulling. He was a bit curious, but since Du Minsheng didn’t say, he didn’t ask.

Du Minsheng was determined to keep what happened while pulling weeds a secret.

Recalling it now, he felt like there was a hole in his head back then—a giant, bottomless one.

He and Luo Wenyun didn’t like each other, and when they were paired up, he saw the other’s expression sour as well.

The program crew required them to finish pulling weeds in a medium-sized field. He and Luo Wenyun provoked each other with a few words, and for some reason, their fighting spirits were ignited.

He and Luo Wenyun started a weed-pulling competition.

In the end, both of them were losers in this silent war.

Not only did they finish pulling the weeds in the designated field, but they also pulled the grass in the surrounding fields.

And everything in the surrounding fields wasn’t weeds; they were vegetable seedlings carefully planted by the locals.

After being scolded, they spent four hours replanting the vegetables they had pulled up in half an hour.

By the end of the planting, the other members of the program crew even came to watch the fun, eating melon seeds while watching them farm.

This kind of thing must never be known by Mo Xuzhi.

Mo Xuzhi asked, “Any plans for today?”

“Today Li Jing and her group are responsible for gathering ingredients, and we’re in charge of cooking.” Du Minsheng checked his watch, “We need to go to the kitchen at eleven. Before then, the time is free.”

It was only a bit after seven in the morning.

Mo Xuzhi stood there for a while with his hands in his pockets and asked, “Want to come to my room and play games? The PC version.”

There were too many documents to process. Wang Zhifeng had just messaged him saying he had expedited them, and they should arrive this afternoon. Before then, he was actually quite free with nothing to do.

Du Minsheng nodded: “Then I’ll go back to my room to get my laptop.”

The cameraman following the two twitched his brow.

Here we go again.

Mo Xuzhi was either playing games or on his way to persuade others to play games with him. He was both a “noob” and loved to play.

While Du Minsheng went back to his room to get his laptop, Mo Xuzhi went back to his room first and opened his suitcase to tidy up.

The cameraman followed him into the room.

Mo Xuzhi found an empty space and opened the suitcase, startled by the things packed tightly inside.

He felt it was light when he was carrying it, but he didn’t expect it to contain so much stuff.

The cameraman hadn’t initially reacted, but seeing Mo Xuzhi’s surprised expression and remembering the luggage full of “sexual frigidity” style during the first check, the contrast was immediate.

“So many things packed this time,” the cameraman asked curiously, “What’s in there?”

Mo Xuzhi put the bag containing a change of clothes to one side and started checking the other items, replying, “I don’t know either.”

“?”

“Someone else packed this.”

Mo Xuzhi mentioned it once and then stopped. He continued tidying up. The cameraman waited for more, but finding that Mo Xuzhi didn’t intend to continue, he felt an intense itch of curiosity and asked again, “Who was it?”

“A colleague… well, a friend.”

Many words crossed Mo Xuzhi’s mind, but none felt accurate, so he eventually said nothing and lowered his head again.

Wang Zhifeng had used the limited space to pack an infinite amount of items for him, from small cookies and bread to eyeglass cleaning cloths—things Mo Xuzhi himself wouldn’t have thought of.

Mo Xuzhi gave two small cookies to the cameraman, and when Du Minsheng came in, he gave him a small cake.

The cameraman looked at the game interfaces of both, filmed a shot of the two playing games face-to-face, and then left the room.

“I’m very good at games… hey, don’t look at me like that, I’m really not a noob, last time was an accident…”

Mo Xuzhi’s voice was shut inside the room. The cameraman carried his camera downstairs.

The game they were playing wasn’t a sponsor of the show, so naturally, they wouldn’t give it free advertising. They only needed to film a segment of the two playing games to explain what they did this morning.

In the room, Mo Xuzhi and Du Minsheng sat opposite each other.

Separated by two computers, Du Minsheng would occasionally look up at Mo Xuzhi.

He hadn’t expected that he could have a day like this.

Sitting in the same room with the person he had thought about for a long, long time, without any awkwardness—it felt like they were back to how they used to be.

“Logged in,” Mo Xuzhi propped his chin up and looked at Du Minsheng, “I can’t connect my mobile account to the PC version, I’ll switch to another account. Should I add you or you add me?”

Du Minsheng said, “I’ll add you.”

Mo Xuzhi gave him the account name.

Du Minsheng shook his head: “No, the system says you’ve refused friend requests.”

“Sorry, I forgot,” Mo Xuzhi smiled and opened the friend request permissions, “Okay, done.”

The friend list, which had always had only one friend, now had two. Du Minsheng’s level 3 new account sat above the level 198 shen_.

Du Minsheng fell into silence looking at the “Level 156” on the computer screen.

Mo Xuzhi’s account looked ordinary, without dazzling effects or outfits, but a look at the profile revealed a row of shining medals that were quite shocking.

Du Minsheng had a complex expression.

He hadn’t expected… he hadn’t expected Mo Xuzhi to actually buy an account for a game.

After hearing the game’s name from Mo Xuzhi before, he had gone back and searched for it, seeing many people who were bad at the game but refused to lose, buying accounts to save face. They were called “silly people with too much money,” but he hadn’t expected Mo Xuzhi to be one of them.

Suddenly, Du Minsheng thought about the top-secret document Mo Xuzhi had spent a huge sum on to get him from Bronze to Silver, and everything felt reasonable again.

As long as he was happy.

Mo Xuzhi didn’t start the game immediately, but rotated his chair to Du Minsheng’s side to show him how to use the keyboard.

PC controls were more complex but also more entertaining.

Perhaps due to the added thought of “this is the game Mo Xuzhi likes to play,” Du Minsheng tried a solo training match and felt it was okay.

At least he could kill the AI bots that stood still.

Only then did Mo Xuzhi start a game.

With his account level, the matchmaking wouldn’t be very gentle.

The teammates were all around level 100, and their ranks were outrageously high. A Silver and a “three-no” new account suddenly popping in looked particularly conspicuous.

A “noob” has a “noob’s” luck; Du Minsheng didn’t even know what these medal-like things represented. In his first game on the PC, everyone was level 50 or above, so he didn’t have a normal sense of levels.

He just felt, well, it’s about the same, everyone’s similar.

The other three people matched with them didn’t mock them either. Someone even turned on their mic and asked to be carried.

They were talking to Du Minsheng.

It seemed they took Du Minsheng for a pro’s smurf account.

After all, no newcomer would be so reckless as to jump straight into high-level matches.

Du Minsheng’s brow twitched, and Mo Xuzhi chuckled under his breath.

Mo Xuzhi said, “Don’t mind them, just follow behind me later.”

Du Minsheng nodded.

Matchmaking complete, the game began.

It was the familiar airplane. A team of five, and as per international convention, they opened team voice chat.

The others were chatting happily. Mo Xuzhi didn’t listen and looked up at Du Minsheng: “Where do you want to jump?”

Du Minsheng said, “Go wherever you want, I’m fine with anything.”

Mo Xuzhi chose a run-down, remote place.

Although there weren’t many good resources here, the competition was low—or rather, no one wanted to pick this place. It allowed him to take Du Minsheng to hide for a while.

If they went to a crowded place, Du Minsheng might be slapped to death within two steps.

A team of five; Mo Xuzhi and Du Minsheng jumped to the run-down spot, while the other three teammates grouped together and jumped to the school.

With a new account by his side, Mo Xuzhi didn’t play recklessly. He fully utilized the “hiding” tactic, carrying it to the end. His luck was pretty good; he didn’t encounter many people and was not far from the play zone, making it into the final circle.

Du Minsheng increasingly felt that this wasn’t much different from a bot match.

Without noticing that the three teammates had already perished, at this critical moment, Du Minsheng saw the ID over Mo Xuzhi’s character and asked, “Why did you choose this name?”

shu sounds like the word for “lose”, so usually no one would pick this name.

“A friend I know is named shen,” Mo Xuzhi smiled, “Doesn’t it look like the word for ‘aunt’?”

Du Minsheng understood.

shu wasn’t “lose,” it was “uncle”.

Mo Xuzhi was secretly taking advantage of someone.

Mo Xuzhi continued, “Back then, I spent ten yuan on a name change card just to change it to this… Wait, someone’s coming, hide!”

TTK Base, Training Room

“Brother, there are two people over there. Let’s go and get the kills.”

Xiao Zhou controlled the mouse, staring at two faint figures on the opposite hillside, looking eager to move.

Shen Fang observed the distance and didn’t speak.

“Hey Xiao Zhou, don’t be in a hurry. The two on the other side don’t look like ordinary people. Don’t be reckless.”

The teammate sitting next to him brought his phone to Xiao Zhou and said, “Old Gan said those two aren’t ordinary; they should be pros on smurf accounts. Don’t rush in and get killed; it would be too embarrassing to fail during a livestream.”

Xiao Zhou glanced at the screen. The brightly displayed shu almost blinded him.

The phone showed a livestream. The “Old Gan” the teammate mentioned was a streamer who used to play professionally, but after an accidental hand injury, he became a streamer and was doing quite well. They would also give him tips from time to time.

Old Gan was still talking:

“Don’t look at it being a level 3 account; it’s definitely a pro’s shell. I have a very sharp eye… shu? What ’lose’? I haven’t been surfing the web for a few days, have I lost touch with society already… Wait, let me check.”

Receiving the keyword, Shen Fang, who hadn’t spoken, looked over.

“…” Xiao Zhou instantly broke into a cold sweat.

Fortunately, Shen Fang only gave a light glance before looking away, popping a candy into his mouth, and looking back at the computer screen.

Xiao Zhou breathed a sigh of relief.

Before he could finish his breath, a gunshot suddenly came through the headset.

The dms next to shu on the teammate’s screen fell.

Shen Fang’s expression remained calm.

Xiao Zhou: “…”

This man is terrifying.

Du Minsheng didn’t have time to hide at all; he was knocked down instantly, the kind that couldn’t be revived.

Mo Xuzhi reacted immediately, finding cover based on the direction of the bullet. He opened his scope and said to the unresponsive Du Minsheng next to him, “I’ll check their IDs and avenge you later.”

They were too far from the other team; he even needed a scope just to see their IDs.

“TTK?” Mo Xuzhi was a bit puzzled, “What’s this? A new couple tag?”

He didn’t surf the web often and often didn’t know what many abbreviations meant. Now, whenever he encountered such simple letters, his first reaction was an abbreviation.

Since there were two people opposite, it wasn’t surprising he thought it was a couple tag.

“I’ll search for it.”

Du Minsheng, having been killed and having nothing to do, opened a browser to search for TTK to satisfy Mo Xuzhi’s curiosity.

“TTK is the name of a team, and,” he swiped his phone, “they just won the national championship and will be participating in the world championship soon.”

Hearing “national champion,” Mo Xuzhi became a bit interested.

Without Du Minsheng by his side, he no longer had any restrictions. He found a spot to ambush a poor soul, took them out with two shots, inherited their gear, and then lay under a bridge to ambush a pickup truck.

With gear and a car, Mo Xuzhi went straight into the town to find the two from TTK, taking out anyone he met on the way with a single shot.

Du Minsheng sat next to Mo Xuzhi, realizing how different and magical the world was.

When Mo Xuzhi said he knew how to play, he really meant it, and he was exceptionally skilled.

“Holy crap, a human machine gun!”

Xiao Zhou looked at both the computer and phone screens, seeing shu getting closer and closer to them.

Until the figure of shu appeared on his own screen, Xiao Zhou stopped looking at his phone and focused on the computer.

They had originally just come to rank up since it was the end of the month and also to get some livestream hours. They thought it would be boring, but they didn’t expect to meet shu.

And as an opponent.

Xiao Zhou looked at Shen Fang with sympathy.

Inviting an old friend repeatedly only to be rejected, and then meeting again on the battlefield—it was a tragedy in capital letters.

Shen Fang glanced at him.

Xiao Zhou quickly withdrew his gaze, “I see he has a grenade. Should we go out and hide?”

They were currently in a house; one grenade inside would take everyone out.

“Going out is certain death. Let’s go upstairs and see.”

So Xiao Zhou didn’t go out and followed Shen Fang upstairs.

Mo Xuzhi, who had positioned his gun opposite, saw that the two hadn’t come out and felt a bit regretful as he put away his gun.

As he put it away, he glanced at the time.

It was already 8:27, three minutes away from 8:30.

“I can’t avenge you today,” Mo Xuzhi pointed at the screen and said, “I have something to do at 8:30. Which of these two do you want to send off?”

Du Minsheng pointed at one randomly: “Him then.”

He was pointing at Xiao Zhou, whose arm was partially exposed.

Mo Xuzhi narrowed his eyes and roughly calculated the distance, then checked his jump power, health, and the opponent’s health.

It was doable.

Throwing away unnecessary items, he arranged the remaining things in order. Then, unexpectedly, he left cover and charged straight from the front.

He jumped straight down from the hillside. Falling from such a height, if he didn’t die, he would only have a breath left, and a single hit from a frying pan would finish him.

The moment had come.

Xiao Zhou steadied his aim and chambered a round. Seeing the timing was about right, he leaned out to quickly find the target, ready to finish them off.

But there was no one.

Xiao Zhou asked, “Brother, where is he?”

“There is someone,” Shen Fang said, “it’s just that you’re gone.”

Xiao Zhou: “?”

In just an instant, a black object shot from an unknown direction hit Xiao Zhou’s head, and the screen instantly turned red.

[TTK—Rod was killed by shu with a frying pan]

Xiao Zhou looked at Shen Fang, his expression dazed.
