Chapter 50#
Chapter 50 Side Story — Twenty-Five
Chen Xu first touched Pei Hao’s lips a few times. Seeing no reaction from the person beneath him, he seemed to have received permission, and his movements became bolder. He leaned closer and sucked gently a few times.
Just as he wanted to continue, the person beneath him suddenly opened his eyes, pinched his chin hard with one hand, and roughly moved his mouth away.
A cold light burst out of Pei Hao’s eyes, looking at him gloomily: “What are you doing?”
Chen Xu saw such a ruthless expression on Pei Hao’s face for the first time. He shivered with fear and wanted to explain, but his chin was pinched so painfully that he couldn’t speak.
Pei Hao was seventy or eighty percent drunk. His body was uncoordinated, and his head was dizzy, but his consciousness was clear. He vaguely knew that he had returned home. From the moment he drank the sobering water, he thought the person beside him was Mo Xi. It wasn’t until the other party kissed him unexpectedly that he felt something was wrong. The touch was different, and the smell was wrong.
He forced himself to open his eyes. After recognizing the person in front of him clearly, he felt a shiver in his heart as if he had seen a ghost, and his brain instantly cleared up a lot.
Fuck! He should have seen that Chen Xu was interested in him long ago.
Seeing Chen Xu in pain, Pei Hao let go and sat up from the sofa irritably.
What the hell is this?? Fortunately, Xiao Xi is not here…
However, the next second he saw Mo Xi standing at the door of the living room with a pale face. Pei Hao’s heart trembled violently, and he broke out in a cold sweat.
Fuck fuck fuck!
He sprang up from the sofa like a spring and ran towards Mo Xi in a flurry. But because the movement was too violent, or he was still a little dizzy, he tripped on the corner of the coffee table and fell to his knees. The pain made the world spin, and stars appeared in his eyes.
Chen Xu stepped forward to help him up, but Pei Hao slapped his hand away and turned his head to say coldly to him, “Get out.” Chen Xu looked at Pei Hao’s clouded face and felt that this person was not joking at all. The five-flavor bottle in his heart was overturned, and he opened the door and ran away as if escaping.
When Pei Hao got up from the ground, Mo Xi had already returned to the bedroom and locked the door. He had to lean carefully against the door and knock, calling softly: “Xiao Xi.”
“Wait a minute,” Mo Xi changed out of his pajamas in the bedroom, took his backpack, took a few deep breaths in front of the door, opened the door and said to Pei Hao pretending to be relaxed, “Sorry to disturb you and your boyfriend. I’d better go stay somewhere else.”
The air was so cold it seemed to freeze. Hearing this, Pei Hao knew that something was different. The subtle tacit understanding that he and Mo Xi had finally built up during this period was gone.
Mo Xi’s expression was very calm, as calm as a stranger. The coldness in his eyes overflowed, and Pei Hao couldn’t help but gasp. He reached out a hand to grab Mo Xi’s shoulder, his expression looking like he was about to cry: “He is not my boyfriend… I have nothing with him.”
Mo Xi broke free from his hand and walked out, smiling: “Then whatever relationship you have, anyway, I disturbed you.”
This alienated expression meant he was definitely angry.
Pei Hao cried out in his heart that it was bad. He followed a few steps and hugged the person from behind, resting his head on Mo Xi’s shoulder. He stood a little unsteadily, half of his body hanging on Mo Xi, and his speech was not very coherent: “I don’t know why he… why he suddenly did this. Blame me for not noticing earlier. If you don’t believe me… I’ll find someone to explain to you immediately. No matter what… I won’t let you go today.” Just after finishing speaking, the things he ate at night began to churn in Pei Hao’s stomach. A sour liquid surged up. He snatched the backpack from Mo Xi’s hand and ran to the bathroom.
Mo Xi was helpless. This person was drunk but still stronger than him. He couldn’t grab it back, so he could only wait for him to fall asleep before taking it back.
Pei Hao’s vomiting sound came from the bathroom. Mo Xi stood by the coffee table listening anxiously, not knowing whether to leave or go in.
After waiting for a while, there was no sound in the bathroom. Mo Xi thought about it and walked in.
Pei Hao leaned against the toilet with his eyes closed, his hands still hugging Mo Xi’s bag tightly. A bottle of mouthwash with the cap open was on the floor. He had already flushed the vomit himself, but the water in the toilet was light red.
Mo Xi’s heart tightened, and his face darkened.
Is he, vomiting blood??
A little panicked, Mo Xi patted Pei Hao’s face hard, his tone no longer calm: “Pei Hao! Wake up!”
Pei Hao opened his eyes in a daze. When he focused on Mo Xi’s face, the corners of his mouth raised into a smile. He felt a little uncomfortable from vomiting just now, and his body was weak and he couldn’t stand up. He threw the bag in his hand aside, knelt and shrank towards Mo Xi, hugging Mo Xi’s thighs tightly with both hands.
“…” Mo Xi’s lower body was hugged and he couldn’t move, so he had to point to the water in the toilet and ask: “Did you vomit blood?”
Pei Hao glanced at it casually, his tone indifferent: “It’s fine.”
Fine my ass!
Mo Xi was furious. He clearly instructed him not to drink during the day. Did this person take his words as a breeze past his ears?!
“Get up!” Mo Xi stared at him, a lot of anger accumulating on his usually gentle face.
Pei Hao was still kneeling on the ground. Finding that the person in front of him looked even angrier, he lowered his head dejectedly and explained intermittently: “Xiao Xi, you really misunderstood me… Chen Xu and I are just col… colleagues! How do I know what he thinks! I was kissed by an inexplicable person… kissed, and misunderstood by you, I am also very aggrieved…”
Still aggrieved… Did I force you to kiss?
Mo Xi tilted his head to one side and recalled carefully. Wasn’t this person the colleague he saw in the hospital last time? At that time, Pei Hao’s attitude towards him… was very distant. Based on his understanding for so many years, Pei Hao should really have no feelings for this colleague.
Thinking about it this way, it seemed that he was indeed not that angry anymore.
The bathroom window was open, and a gust of cold wind blew in. Mo Xi couldn’t help shivering. Pei Hao seemed to notice it, so he hugged tighter.
He didn’t know if Pei Hao really drank too much or was crazy with alcohol. Seeing Mo Xi letting him hug, he began to talk to himself: “When you were not here… I stood on the bal… balcony missing you, missing you every day. I always dreamed of you, dreamed that you came back… dreamed that we returned to… returned to the way we were before.”
“Fu Yan he… got married. I really have no feelings for him at… at all. Don’t be angry. If… if you still don’t believe me, I will stay far away from him in the future. We go to the US, go to Europe, whatever… whatever you want.”
“I often peek at your Face… Facebook, knowing that you went to the national park to see the stars. Sorry… sorry I didn’t take you there properly before. Can you give me another chance? In the future, I will accompany you to the observatory, to see… see the aurora.”
Peeking at his Facebook? Mo Xi was stunned. He couldn’t imagine this would be something Pei Hao did, but he did post photos of stargazing on Facebook.
The bathroom light was at the dimmest setting, turning into soft light on the face. Pei Hao rested his head on Mo Xi’s knee, like a child holding a beloved toy, refusing to let go. Mo Xi looked down and met a pair of tender eyes. He was in a trance and almost drowned in them.
He looked away in a panic and changed the subject pretending to be calm: “Didn’t we agree not to drink today?”
“Have… have to make money,” Pei Hao burped, buried his face between Mo Xi’s knees and rubbed, “No work without drinking, no money without work, no money… can’t go to the US to find you.”
“Go to the US to find me?” Mo Xi was puzzled, “Why?”
“Because I miss you,” Pei Hao chuckled, “Just… secretly fly over to see you.”
Mo Xi was slightly stunned: “You secretly flew to the US to see me?”
“Mm,” Pei Hao licked his lips and nodded, “Went a few times.”
Mo Xi was surprised: “When?”
“Christmas, your birthday, and…” Speaking of this, Pei Hao stopped smiling and his face looked ugly, “On your birthday, you were with another man, humph…”
So the encounter with Pei Hao at school that time was not accidental? Pei Hao went there specifically to find him?
Mo Xi’s expression became more and more complicated as he listened. The expression on his face couldn’t keep up with the amount of information he heard. He barely digested it in his mind for a while before continuing to ask: “How did you know I would appear there on my birthday?”
“Can’t say,” Pei Hao hooked his mouth and winked at him, “Secret.”
“…”
I think you are not drunk at all!
The two stood like this for a while. Pei Hao kept talking nonsense. Seeing that he had no intention of getting up, Mo Xi pushed his body hard: “Get up quickly, my legs are sore.”
“Won’t get up,” Pei Hao pouted and looked at Mo Xi cautiously, “You’ll leave if I get up.”
“You get up,” Mo Xi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, “I won’t leave.”
Pei Hao looked up at him, half-believing: “Really?”
“Mm, won’t leave, get up quickly,” Mo Xi moved his legs. He really didn’t want to continue like this with Pei Hao. Coax him up first, so he pointed to the sofa and said, “Go sit on the sofa properly.”
Pei Hao understood, stood up obediently, walked to the sofa and sat down properly. His back was straight, his hands hung vertically on his legs, and his expression was serious, very much like a primary school student in class. Mo Xi almost laughed out loud when he saw it.
Pei Hao used to fall asleep almost immediately when he was drunk. He had never seen such an obedient Pei Hao.
There was a thunderclap outside the window, followed by the sound of rain hitting the window. Mo Xi looked out. At first, the raindrops quickly connected into lines, weaving into a dense net in the air.
It seemed he couldn’t go out now.
Mo Xi walked over to close the window. When he turned around, he saw the pink liquid in the toilet again, feeling only upset. After thinking for a while, he still took out his phone and typed: What to do if vomiting blood after drinking.
After browsing for a few rounds, he finally walked into the kitchen and made a bowl of hot soup for Pei Hao.
Pei Hao sat on the sofa properly. Seeing Mo Xi coming out of the kitchen with a bowl, his eyes curved into a smile. He took it and drank it in a few mouthfuls. After finishing, he wiped the corner of his mouth and said to Mo Xi contentedly: “Go to sleep, you have to catch a plane tomorrow.”
At this time, a lightning bolt flashed across, and a few seconds later there was another thunderclap. The rain poured down. Mo Xi looked out the window. The trees on both sides of the road were blown into a mess, and there was not a single person on the street. It seemed he couldn’t leave tonight.
He didn’t fight for the sofa with Pei Hao either. Anyway, every time he slept halfway, he would be carried back to bed.
Mo Xi went to the bathroom to pack his backpack, changed back into his pajamas and lay in bed to sleep. Before entering the dream, suddenly a warmth came from behind. A person smelling of alcohol hugged him from behind, put his nose to his neck, sniffed carefully a few times, and then moved away contentedly.
Mo Xi’s back neck was a little itchy from being sniffed. He opened his eyes slowly. Although the room was dark, he could guess who it was with his toes.
“Pei Hao!” Mo Xi was very annoyed and reached out to pry open the hand holding him, “I think you are pushing your luck now.”
Pei Hao covered Mo Xi’s restless hand in his palm with his backhand, speaking lazily: “I’m drunk.”
“Drunk my ass!” Mo Xi scolded, his body still struggling futilely.
“Shh—” Pei Hao leaned close to his ear and blew gently, his tone very soft, with a hint of pleading, “Let me hug you, okay?” Saying that, Pei Hao rested his chin on the top of Mo Xi’s head and sighed deeply: “You are leaving tomorrow. I don’t know when we will meet next time.”
Mo Xi resisted symbolically a few more times, sweating a little, but still couldn’t break free, so he simply gave up.
Pei Hao held Mo Xi’s left hand, pressed it to his heart, and said meaningfully: “I can feel your heartbeat.”
Mo Xi’s hand was tightly held in Pei Hao’s hand, hot to the touch. The rain stopped outside, and time seemed to stop too. The room was extremely quiet. He could clearly hear Pei Hao’s breathing close at hand, and his own faster and faster heartbeat.
“Xiao Xi, I love you.” Pei Hao said this close to his ear, very lightly, but it exploded in Mo Xi’s heart like a bomb. If there was magma in his heart, it must be boiling now, and soon it would burst out and flow all over his body.
If Pei Hao was just teasing him in the past few days, now it was definitely a confession.
If it were two weeks ago, he might have replied indifferently, “None of my business,” but now, he couldn’t say such words.
“You don’t have to respond to me. I didn’t treat you well before and didn’t deserve you,” Mo Xi’s silence was expected by Pei Hao. He was not disappointed, but looked into the dark air and explained slowly, “I will try hard to stay by your side and love you well in the next life. But if you really hate me too much, then compared to changing your mind, I hope you live happily in this world.”
Mo Xi was stunned. Pei Hao’s temperature came from his back. Somehow, it was a little burning. A moonlight shone through the gap in the curtains. Mo Xi blinked, and a tear slid down his cheek onto the pillow.
When he was in the temple today, he accidentally glanced at the words Pei Hao wrote on the wishing plaque. Simple and crude, it was his usual style:
Wish to exchange my lifespan for Mo Xi’s happiness and joy for a lifetime!
