Chapter 4 - 2#

Only then did Kun Yang leave with peace of mind. Before leaving, he thought with a heart full of bitterness that a man like Brother Jin didn’t have it easy. He found a wife, but the wife ran away, and before running away, he even rushed to cuckold him. How miserable must he be to drink himself into such a state?

Wenwen didn’t dare to sleep all night, fearing that Jin Yan would wake up in the middle of the night and go crazy from the alcohol. However, Jin Yan slept very soundly. He woke up once in the early morning, stared blankly at him, and asked, “Where is Jiang Qin?”

Wenwen subconsciously asked, “Who is Jiang Qin?”

“…Where is Jiang Qin?!”

“…Who is Jiang Qin?!”

Jin Yan looked at him and suddenly smiled, a smile that was indescribably strange: “Fine, you just stay there. If Jiang Qin wants to fry you or deep-fry you, I won’t care.”

Saying this, he closed his eyes and fell asleep again, leaving Wenwen full of questions.

At dawn the next day, Wenwen was dozing on the table when suddenly the ringtone of the mobile phone in Jin Yan’s pocket woke him up. He looked back and saw that Jin Yan was still sleeping like a log, so he plucked up the courage to reach into his jacket pocket, took out the phone, and glanced at it.

The caller ID was “Little Student Li Meng”.

Who is this little student? Wenwen found it funny, muted the phone, put it back, and ignored it.

The phone kept vibrating in the pocket, vibrating probably five or six times before stopping. Wenwen fell into a daze and slept again. This time he slept until broad daylight. He was dreaming about eating breakfast when he was suddenly awakened by a loud knocking on the door.

The room was in the bar. Unless led by security, outsiders absolutely couldn’t get in. Wenwen thought it was some receptionist thinking they hadn’t paid and coming to collect the bill, so he yawned, went over to open the door, and was stunned.

Standing outside the door was the man he had bumped into in the corridor last night.

The light was too dim at that time, and he was standing with many men and women in business suits, so Wenwen didn’t see clearly what his face looked like. Standing face to face in a bright place today, he suddenly realized that this person was actually very good-looking.

His facial features were unusually standard and profound, with long eyebrows, deep eyes, and a very straight nose bridge. At first glance, he gave off a cold and ruthless feeling like a print model. If a mold were placed over his face, the result should be a marble statue carved precisely according to the golden ratio.

He was also tall, with broad shoulders and long legs. Wenwen had to look up slightly to meet his eyes. In that instant, there was only one thought in his mind: this person’s skin was really white, white as ice and snow. Was he born like this, or was it the effect of the light angle on his face?

“May I ask who you are…”

Jiang Qin said, “Don’t move.”

He reached out and pinched Wenwen’s chin, turning his face to examine it carefully for a few seconds.

Those few seconds were actually incredibly long for Wenwen—he even forgot that he could call security. Jiang Qin’s aura was very intimidating. Intuitively, it felt like being stared at by a strict teacher in elementary school, suppressing him so much that he didn’t dare to act rashly at all.

“Indeed.” Jiang Qin let go of him and only said these two words.

“May I ask who you are… you…”

Jiang Qin gently pushed him away, his movements gentle but refusing refusal. Wenwen didn’t dare to call anyone at all, watching helplessly as he took a mobile phone and walked in, grabbing Jin Yan from the bed!

“Oh my, you can’t do that! This, this, this, security! Is security here?”

The bar was unusually quiet early in the morning. Although Wenwen’s voice wasn’t loud, it was very piercing. There was immediate movement in the duty room downstairs, and several security guards ran up the stairs asking, “What’s wrong? What happened?”

Wenwen trembled, “What are you guys doing? Letting people in in broad daylight?”

He looked back and saw that Jin Yan had been startled awake. Jiang Qin was holding him by the collar, staring down at him from above, until Jin Yan’s dazed gaze slowly focused, followed by a shiver through his whole body.

Before the security guards could speak, Jin Yan’s voice, lacking confidence, rang out first: “Jiang, Jiang Qin, why are you here?”

Immediately after, he suddenly remembered something and roared righteously: “I really didn’t do any—”

“Li Meng ran away from home last night and didn’t go to school this morning.”

Jin Yan was instantly stunned.

“Stop sleeping,” Jiang Qin said coldly, “Get up and come with me to find him.”

Jin Yan had absolutely no power to fight back. Being dragged by the neck by Jiang Qin, he stumbled out of the room. Wenwen and several security guards were all petrified there, not daring to make a sound. Only after leaving the bar did Jin Yan suddenly remember and ask fearfully, “I haven’t paid for the room yet…”

“I signed the bill when I came in.”

“You paid?!”

Jiang Qin opened the car door with one hand and stuffed Jin Yan into the driver’s seat with the other, saying concisely: “Signed your name.”

Jin Yan: “…”

“Don’t space out,” Jiang Qin said, “Drive.”
