Chapter 78#

Fu Yucheng tiredly rubbed his brow, placed the copy of Beyond Good and Evil in his hand onto the coffee table, and glanced out the floor-to-ceiling window.

The sky was gradually darkening, and Bai Mo had not yet returned.

This was Bai Mo’s own small apartment, quite a distance from the White Rose Palace. Not long ago, Fu Yucheng had lived here for a period of time.

Before opening the tower, he had considered having Bai Mo move into the palace. However, after everything that happened, the matter of moving was left unresolved.

Today, Fu Yucheng had come here to make things clear with Bai Mo—just as his mother, Rong Xu, had said: like cutting through a tangled knot.

The White Rose Palace had too many eyes and ears, and making too much of a scene would be improper. Therefore, Fu Yucheng chose this place to have a showdown with Bai Mo.

The artificial moon rose, casting a veil-like layer of clear light in front of the window.

Fu Yucheng looked down at the cold moonlight on the floor, his mind in a turmoil.

How should he start?

How could he start?

Fu Yucheng could naturally tell that Bai Mo had always been worried. He was afraid that once Fu Yucheng took this position, he would no longer want him… He had abandoned him once before, and now, he was going to abandon him again.

What would Bai Mo… what would he think?

As Fu Yucheng was lost in thought, hurried footsteps suddenly came from outside the door, and with a “Bang,” the door was pushed open.

Bai Mo walked to the sofa in a few strides, his handsome, travel-worn face filled with undisguised joy: “I saw the light in the room and guessed it was you…”

Without waiting for Fu Yucheng’s answer, he pulled him into a hug, buried his face in the other’s neck, and said muffledly: “I was away on this mission for two whole weeks and didn’t see you… I missed you so much.”

Held tightly by the other, Fu Yucheng opened his mouth weakly but didn’t make a sound.

He wanted to say something, but the words wouldn’t come out.

After hugging him for a while, Bai Mo seemed to sense something was amiss. He let go, his expression slightly apprehensive: “What’s wrong? Did… something happen again?”

Fu Yucheng almost didn’t dare to look into the other’s eyes, staring at the cold moonlight on the floor as if to escape.

Bai Mo grew anxious and asked again: “What exactly happened?”

Fu Yucheng remained silent for a long time, still unable to speak.

He thought, let’s wait two more days.

Just two days.

Having made up his mind, Fu Yucheng forced a smile: “It’s nothing, just handled too many documents and I’m a bit tired. I haven’t seen you in many days, so knowing you’d be back today, I came over to see you.”

Bai Mo stared at him, his dark eyes sparkling, the joy in his gaze almost irrepressible: “You came specifically to see me?”

Looking at his joyful expression, Fu Yucheng felt a pang of sorrow in his heart, yet he smiled nonchalantly: “What, I’m not allowed to come? Don’t tell me you’re hiding someone in your house?”

Bai Mo immediately became frantic: “No! How could I!”

Fu Yucheng couldn’t help a light laugh.

Bai Mo realized at once he’d been teased again and couldn’t help muttering: “You’re teasing me again. You clearly know I only have you in my heart… I will never like anyone else in my life.”

He leaned over Fu Yucheng, his voice growing lower, sounding both clumsy and a bit shy.

Fu Yucheng rubbed the other’s thick, smooth hair, his heart feeling a sense of emptiness.

Bai Mo rubbed against his shoulder, his dark eyes very bright, his snow-white face tinged with pink, and the color of his lips very clean.

Fu Yucheng looked at him for a while, then suddenly lowered his head and lightly touched those lips.

Fu Yucheng was always very busy and rarely initiated intimacy. Bai Mo’s eyes widened. After only a moment of shock, he fiercely deepened the kiss, his passion almost overwhelming.

After a long time, the two finally separated, both somewhat out of breath.

Bai Mo pinned Fu Yucheng onto the sofa, his iron-like arms locking the person beneath him firmly, yet he didn’t dare take any further liberties. He only looked at the other with unbearable longing, his eyes even moist: “Yu-ge…”

Being looked at with such extreme craving by those clear dark eyes, Fu Yucheng, as if possessed, actually blurted out: “Xiao Mo, let’s do it.”

Bai Mo froze. His dazed look was almost cute.

“Silly.” Fu Yucheng shook his head with a light laugh.

He had always been someone with excellent initiative; now that he had said it, he would put it into action immediately. Without waiting for Bai Mo’s answer, he reached out and pulled the other close, then in a smooth, flowing motion, began kissing him densely starting from that smooth forehead.

Once Bai Mo reacted, he responded with almost fierce fervor.

After a period of intense entanglement, Fu Yucheng’s movements suddenly paused slightly. He perceived a certain intention of the other, and his mind went a bit blank.

He pushed Bai Mo away slightly, his tone somewhat uncertain: “Xiao Mo, could it be you want to…”

At this moment, even the color of Bai Mo’s pupils had darkened. His expression of wanting to devour the other was almost predatory. Only after Fu Yucheng pushed him twice did he extremely reluctantly stop, lightly panting: “Yu-ge, what’s wrong?”

The always calm and composed Fu Yucheng was now almost at a loss. In front of him, Bai Mo had always been very obedient and gentle—sometimes even very shy and easy to flush, looking as if he would let Fu Yucheng do whatever he wanted… Furthermore, he had never even considered being the one…

Even when Lu Xing said those bastardly things, he only thought the other was intentionally trying to humiliate him and never took it seriously, let alone to heart.

But just now, Bai Mo clearly wanted to…

Fu Yucheng felt his mind was a bit of a mess and subconsciously pushed the other again.

Seeing him suddenly become resistant, Bai Mo couldn’t help but get anxious: “What’s wrong? Did I do something wrong?”

Fu Yucheng simply didn’t know how to answer.

He was caught in a dilemma, struggling internally with extreme conflict for a long time. Meanwhile, the youth’s expression gradually changed from longing and urgency to confusion, and finally to extreme disappointment.

Seeing Fu Yucheng remain silent for a long time, Bai Mo seemed to understand something. He lowered his eyes in extreme disappointment, struggling to control his emotions as he pulled a blanket to cover the other: “If you’re unwilling, you don’t have to force yourself like this.”

Fu Yucheng looked down in silence for a moment, then suddenly threw caution to the wind and pulled the other toward him with force.

Fu Yucheng closed his eyes tightly. The youth’s lethal passion made him almost tremble. He was always composed and at ease, yet now he felt his scalp tingling in waves, and he didn’t even know where to put his hands and feet. He used almost every ounce of self-control he possessed to keep from pushing the other away and fleeing in a panic.

The source of this panic wasn’t just because of the position… but also because Fu Yucheng had always been an extremely dominant person. Handing over control made him very nervous and insecure.

Bai Mo wasn’t much better; his snow-white face was flushed deep pink, and even his voice was unsteady: “Is, is it okay now?”

Fu Yucheng simply didn’t know how to answer and could only self-deceivingly cover his eyes with his arm, cursing weakly in a raspy voice: “Don’t fucking ask me that kind of question…”

Bai Mo gazed deeply at the person beneath him, as if wanting to memorize every detail of the other’s appearance at this moment.

Despite being psychologically prepared, when the moment actually came, Fu Yucheng still couldn’t help but take a sharp breath. At the same time, he bit his teeth hard, doing his best to control himself so as not to let out any embarrassing sounds.

The youth was as gentle as could be, almost careful, as if treating a priceless and extremely fragile piece of crystal art. But Fu Yucheng didn’t feel much better; that feeling of extreme shame made him tremble incessantly… Never in his life had he thought he would willingly… He must be crazy, he must be crazy.

Time was long and agonizing… After an unknown amount of time, Bai Mo lowered his head to kiss his forehead, his voice terrifyingly hoarse: “…You’re shaking.”

At this point, even the youth’s eyes were tinged with red, and his smooth forehead was covered in a dense layer of sweat. Yet he still endured with difficulty, not daring to make any further moves: “Are you okay?”

Fu Yucheng’s mind was already burned into a muddle, and he was so ashamed and embarrassed he almost didn’t dare look into the other’s eyes. In a state of self-abandonment, he said: “L-Less fucking nonsense… continue.”

Cold moonlight cast in from the floor-to-ceiling window, and the sofa in the living room shook violently… amidst the world spinning, Fu Yucheng felt the other’s sweat continuously flicking down… that scalding temperature gave him the illusion of being burned.

Bai Mo had almost lost control: “Yu-ge, Yu-ge…”

Fu Yucheng couldn’t stop shaking, even his voice was trembling as he cursed: “Little brat, sh-shut up, don’t scream randomly!”

The youth pursed his lips aggrievedly, and then kissed down fiercely.

After another long time, Fu Yucheng didn’t even have the strength to curse anymore. In his confusion, he was flipped over once more… Bai Mo suddenly paused slightly, his voice a bit hesitant: “You really do have a mole here.”

Fu Yucheng had no idea what he was talking about and just let out a muddled “En.”

The youth’s breathing grew heavy for a moment.

He was silent for a moment, then suddenly lowered his head and fiercely bit the other’s nape… In his dizziness, Fu Yucheng couldn’t figure out what kind of tantrum the kid was throwing again. He felt like a small boat in a raging sea, almost broken by the impact of the surging waves…

The sofa was turned into a mess, and Bai Mo picked the person up directly, heading for the bedroom upstairs.

After an unknown amount of time, the two moved from the bedroom to the bathroom. Fu Yucheng had lost even the last bit of his dignity as an “older brother.” His eyelashes were clumped together by physiological tears, and his originally pleasant deep voice was broken, even humiliatingly taking on a crying tone: “Xiao Mo, enough…”

But by this point, Bai Mo had completely lost control. His originally pale and aloof face was now almost distorted, and his usual obedience and shyness had long since been cast aside: “It’ll be over soon, just endure a bit more…”

Fu Yucheng struggled with great effort to open his eyes, his mind still somewhat groggy.

He felt as if he had been crushed by some kind of terrible heavy weapon; his whole being had a feeling of collapse and prostration, yet his body felt clean, without any sticky sensation, evidently having been carefully cleaned.

“You’re awake.” Bai Mo lay beside him, his voice very soft and his expression somewhat bashful, looking nothing like the person from the night before.

Fu Yucheng didn’t say a word, his heart filled with regret—he had been deceived by the kid’s usual obedient and shy appearance until not even his bone fragments were left.

Seeing him remain silent, Bai Mo didn’t mind. His dark eyes were bright, and the corners of his mouth couldn’t stop curling up.

Being stared at like that made Fu Yucheng’s face hot. Feeling somewhat embarrassed and awkward, he rolled over to face away from the youth. Based on his past experience, as long as he put on a cold face, the kid would walk away pitifully and draw circles in a corner.

As it turned out, that trick didn’t work today. After a while, Fu Yucheng felt a warmth at the side of his neck; the other had leaned in again to rub against him.

A moment later, Fu Yucheng turned over, unable to bear it any longer, and cursed in a raspy voice: “Bai Mo, can you just stop for a while?! Last night, you almost…”

He paused, too embarrassed to continue.

What could he say? That this kid had almost worked him to death?

Bai Mo’s ears rapidly turned red, and even his gaze began to wander: “Last night, I didn’t mean to be like that. I, I couldn’t help it… Besides, you were the one who provoked me first. You’re also responsible; you have to take responsibility for me…”

Fu Yucheng glared at him, feeling as if a mouth of old blood were stuck in his throat.

Perhaps because they had been intimate, seeing Fu Yucheng angry didn’t make Bai Mo very afraid anymore. Instead, he leaned in to hug him, lowering his head to kiss him continuously.

After lingering together for a while, the youth spoke again hesitantly: “Yu-ge, what do you think… how was it?”

Fu Yucheng didn’t understand his meaning: “What ‘how was it’?”

“J-Just…” Bai Mo was a bit embarrassed, and even his voice grew smaller, “That.”

“…Not great,” Fu Yucheng said cold-heartedly.

Bai Mo blanked: “How could that be? I liked it so much. Besides, later you also…”

Fu Yucheng felt his face burning hot and couldn’t help throwing a feather pillow at the other’s head: “Don’t talk nonsense!”

Bai Mo pushed the pillow aside, suddenly understanding something: “You’re shy?”

Fu Yucheng was stumped, then said in a huff: “It’s broad daylight; you’re not allowed to say these things!”

Looking at the other’s angry and embarrassed expression, Bai Mo couldn’t help curling his lips. His dark eyes were filled with an intense, inseparable heat of love.

Then, he suddenly asked: “Yu-ge, do you like me?”

Fu Yucheng froze.

Bai Mo had never asked such a question, and he had never thought about how to answer.

Affection? Guilt? Pity? Being moved? These emotions… naturally were present.

But… could he really give the other the same kind of blazing affection?

Could he?

Perhaps, following another path of fate, through their time together and the passage of time, he could eventually give the youth the same kind of affection.

But now, he was destined to let the other down.

Seeing Fu Yucheng remain silent for a long time, Bai Mo pursed his lips and said softly: “Before, I never asked this question. Because I knew you definitely wouldn’t be able to answer… You have too many things on your plate; I couldn’t even rank near the front.”

“I kept pestering you, wanting to have a deeper relationship… I just needed to be certain of something so that it wouldn’t be so… hard to bear.” He rested his chin on Fu Yucheng’s shoulder, rubbing against him lightly like a kitten, “Now, all your business is finished, and you’ve promised me. We can take things slow. I’ll work even harder; you will definitely like me.”

Fu Yucheng lowered his eyes and did not answer.

He felt as if a heavy stone were pressing down on his heart, making even breathing somewhat difficult.
