Chapter 8#

The Little Trash Tamed the Sinister Demon King (08)

【……】

Ling Xiaoqi glanced at his system space—originally thinking it was already spacious enough, but compared to Mo Yan’s true form, it was like a minnow beside a whale. He shook his head helplessly. 【Can’t fit him in. He’s too big. But, big brother, you’re not thinking of stuffing him into the space, are you?】

【That’s the idea.】

【Ah???!!! You want to take him along on missions? You want to take him away?!】

【That’s the thought.】

【!!!!!!!】

Ling Yan pinched his chin, pacing back and forth on the spot.

Fortunately, the ground was covered with the soft carpet the Rock Rhinoceros had prepared earlier, which made walking barefoot more comfortable.

He gazed at Mo Yan’s mountain-like colossal form and felt a bit troubled—if he were to stuff him into the space, how would he stretch his limbs? It simply wouldn’t fit. After a moment’s thought, he looked up and asked, “Can you make yourself smaller?”

Mo Yan’s serpentine body wriggled slightly, and he replied in a low voice, “I can.”

As he spoke, his enormous frame began to contract, and the golden light flowing between his scales also subsided.

Ling Yan pinched his chin and asked inwardly, 【Can he fit now?】

【No.】

Ling Yan clicked his tongue, stepped forward, and reached out to pat Mo Yan’s icy-cold serpent head, saying, “A bit smaller.”

“Okay.”

The giant snake shrank another size, its coiled form becoming much more compact.

This time, without needing Ling Yan to ask again, Ling Xiaoqi immediately replied.

【Still can’t fit.】

Ling Yan pouted. “Smaller.”

“Okay.”

Ling Xiaoqi: 【Still can’t fit.】

Ling Yan: “Smaller still.”

Although Mo Yan didn’t know what his little demon queen was up to, he obediently complied. He shrank several more times, and now his body could mostly fit into the courtyard, no longer blotting out the sky.

Ling Xiaoqi finally breathed a sigh of relief. 【Now it fits.】

Mo Yan gently wriggled his serpent body. Though he didn’t understand what his little demon queen wanted to do, his only wish was to make him happy. He carefully recalled how his subjects treated their wives. After a moment of thought, he asked in a low voice, “Do you want to… go for a ride?”

“A ride?”

“Mm.”

Ling Yan raised an eyebrow slightly, the high arch of his brow displaying a hint of interest. “Sure.”

The next moment, a serpent’s tail slowly extended toward Ling Yan, gently wrapping around his waist and lifting him steadily onto its head. Mo Yan’s deep voice came through the wind: “Hold onto my horns.”

“Okay.”

Ling Yan sat astride Mo Yan’s head as instructed, gripping the pair of curved, sturdy bone horns.

In the next instant, the giant serpent soared into the air, its form once again expanding to blot out the sky as it glided through the heavens. The view from above was extremely vast—overlooking mountains, rivers, demon cities, and villages.

Below, all the spirits and monsters seemed to sense the true form of their king, trembling under the oppressive might of his demonic aura. They knelt prostrate in worship, their postures filled with devout reverence.

Truly, a myriad of demons paid homage; heaven and earth stood solemn.

After this day, rumors spread throughout the demon realm that the Demon King and Demon Queen were deeply in love, and the Demon King doted on his queen so much that he allowed her to ride on his head.

And somehow, this news quietly reached the human domain.

One human and one snake freely roamed the skies, sometimes weaving through drifting clouds, other times skimming low over lush green forests. In the mountains, a riot of vibrant, resplendent flowers bloomed everywhere.

Mo Yan carried his little demon queen on the wind, clearly sensing the joy in his heart. He asked in a low voice.

“How does it feel?”

Ling Yan felt the breeze brush against his cheeks, his ink-black hair flying wildly behind him. He laughed aloud.

“Amazing!”

The two took another exhilarating lap before Mo Yan slowly descended into a sea of blooming flowers on the mountain.

He transformed back into human form. Seeing that Ling Yan was still barefoot, he naturally scooped him up in one arm, holding him close in an intimate gesture.

Ling Yan was lazy by nature—typical of someone who would rather lie down than sit, and rather sit than stand.

If someone was willing to carry him, he was more than happy to enjoy it.

Looking at the dazzling expanse of flowers before him, he couldn’t help but ask, “Where is this? Did we fly too far?”

Mo Yan held him securely, looking down, and said in a low voice, “Still within the demon realm—a mountain just outside the city. The sunset here is incredibly beautiful. I thought… you might like it.”

Hearing this, Ling Yan turned his head slightly. At the edge of the empty mountain range, a golden sun was slowly sinking beyond the horizon.

The sunset was fading, dusk gradually dyeing the sky.

The entire sea of flowers was bathed in a warm, golden glow, breathtakingly enchanting.

Ling Yan quietly enjoyed the afterglow for a while, then looked up at Mo Yan, meeting those deep golden eyes. A teasing glint rose in his heart. “Demon King!”

Hearing this address, Mo Yan frowned slightly, a trace of displeasure in his tone.

“Yanyan, just call me by my name.”

“Fine.” Ling Yan nestled in Mo Yan’s arms, his fingertips toying with a strand of Mo Yan’s ink-black hair, smiling as he asked, “When I first entered the demon realm, I brought a cat with me. But as soon as the cat entered demon territory, it disappeared without a trace… I wonder if Mo Yan could trouble himself to help me find that cat?”

“…”

Mo Yan’s body stiffened almost imperceptibly. He paused for a moment, then lowered his golden eyes to gaze deeply at the person in his arms, asking in a low voice, “You… like that cat very much?”

Ling Yan nodded slightly, his tone light. “I do. That cat was soft and warm in my arms, and its scent was especially nice.”

As he spoke, he gradually leaned close to Mo Yan’s neck, took a soft breath, and said with a smile, “That scent… is very similar to the Demon King’s own. Could it be that it’s related to the Demon King?”

“…”

Mo Yan remained silent, quietly stewing in jealousy.

Seeing no response, Ling Yan twirled his fingers around Mo Yan’s hair, winding it round and round as if playing with an interesting toy, and asked with a grin.

“Why isn’t the Demon King speaking?”

Mo Yan frowned slightly, jealousy churning in his golden pupils. A strange, irritable emotion he had never felt in ten thousand years welled up inside him.

A restlessness stirred in his heart, and his words carried a fierce, murderous edge: “I forbid you to keep any other animals. If you dare, I will personally kill it.”

Ling Yan pretended to be disappointed, leaning against his chest, and cautiously asked, “So… I can’t keep anything at all?”

“No.”

Mo Yan spat out the word coldly, his tone resolute.

Ling Yan found this attitude utterly amusing. He reached out his hand, gently stroking the vibrant red mole at the corner of Mo Yan’s eye, and asked with a smile.

“Then… what about a snake? Can I keep you, this snake?”
