Chapter 21#
The Little Trash Tames the Sinister Demon King (21)
【Troublesome!】Ling Yan lazily complained, then asked, 【What’s the darkening value now?】
【22 left.】
Hearing that number, Ling Yan’s brows lifted slightly, a glint of cunning flashing in his tea-colored eyes. If the darkening value could be cleared to zero, it would mean the mission was nearly complete.
It seemed the end wasn’t far off.
When that time came, he was determined to take Mo Yan along with him, dragging him into the system space to travel through myriad worlds and enjoy a leisurely vacation.
Just as he was lost in thought, a slender hand suddenly pinched his chin and gently lifted it. Ling Yan met a sharply handsome face, and heard the other say flatly, “What did you discuss with your little brother for so long?”
Ling Yan blinked, smiling brightly. “Nothing much—I was just thinking about how to steal you away.”
“Steal this king away for what?”
“To accompany me on vacation.”
“Fine.”
A brief astonishment flickered across Ling Yan’s beautiful face, then he broke into a smile, sat up straight, and looked at Mo Yan. “Aren’t you even going to ask where I’m taking you?”
Mo Yan lowered his head and gently bit Ling Yan’s lips, his movements tender. “As long as I’m by your side, anywhere is fine.”
“Alright.”
Ling Yan contentedly nestled back into Mo Yan’s arms, his gaze drifting into the distance.
Their eyes passed through the carved window lattice to rest on the bright moon at the edge of the sky. Moonlight like silk, large and round, hung high in the ink-black night, scattering cold and ethereal radiance.
Gazing at the moon, Ling Yan’s lips parted slightly as he murmured softly.
“The moon is quite round tonight.”
Hearing this from the person in his arms, Mo Yan pondered briefly. His fingertips brushed over Ling Yan’s soft cheek, and he said in a low voice, “There’s a place where the moon is extraordinarily beautiful to view. Would you like to go?”
Ling Yan lifted his eyes, the corners of his mouth curving into a smile. “I’d love to.”
A faint smile touched Mo Yan’s lips. He held the person in his arms tighter and replied, “Good, then we’ll go now.”
The moment his words fell, both figures vanished.
When they reappeared, they stood atop the highest mountain peak in the demon realm. The mountain was steep and towering, with clouds and mist swirling around, dreamlike and surreal—a perfect spot to view the moon.
Mo Yan held Ling Yan as he sat down on a smooth boulder nearby and asked softly, “How is this place?”
“Not bad—it really is suitable for watching the moon.”
The summit was so high it felt as if one could reach out and touch the sky. The moon appeared exceptionally large, its cold and clear light spilling down, enveloping them in a melancholy and enchanting lunar glow.
Only…
It felt a bit cold.
Ling Yan couldn’t help but burrow deeper into Mo Yan’s arms.
But Mo Yan’s true form was an ink-black serpent, naturally cool to the touch; even pressed close, it didn’t warm him much.
Sensing Ling Yan’s movement, Mo Yan frowned slightly and quietly circulated his demonic energy. An aura of warmth soon radiated around them.
Comfortably nestled in his warm embrace, Ling Yan gazed at the bright moon hanging in the sky and asked softly,
“Mo Yan, do we have to go to war?”
Hearing this, Mo Yan’s body stiffened almost imperceptibly, then he let out a soft sigh. “This king originally had no strong feelings about it. I was always obsessed with cultivation. But now, I’ve found something I like more.”
“…”
Drinking milk.
Eating chicken.
No need to elaborate; he understood.
Mo Yan pulled the person deeper into his arms, idly playing with his slender fingers, rubbing each one meticulously, endlessly entertained. When the person in his arms remained silent, he asked softly, “Yan Yan doesn’t like war?”
“…”
Truth be told, he didn’t have strong feelings either.
But thinking about Ling Xiaoqi’s words, Ling Yan hesitated, licked his lips gently, and replied in a barely audible voice, “If the world could be at peace, that would be better.”
“Then we won’t fight.”
“…”
Ling Yan looked up at Mo Yan’s deep golden pupils. “We won’t fight?”
“Mm. Since you say you prefer peace, we won’t fight.” Mo Yan lowered his head to kiss Ling Yan’s lips, then, as if not satisfied, bit softly but firmly on the tender lips, continuing, “That way, this king will have more time to be with you. Didn’t you say you wanted to… vacation? I’ll come with you.”
Hearing this, Ling Yan couldn’t help but laugh softly.
His radiant face bloomed with laughter; behind him, the flawless moon cast its pure light, making him even more breathtakingly beautiful.
He curled his lips, looking at Mo Yan, his tone teasing.
“Demon King, you’re really getting good at winning people over.”
Mo Yan’s eyes churned with an possessive darkness. His voice was low.
“It’s enough to win your favor.”
Ling Yan’s smile deepened. He raised his face and gently kissed the crimson mole at the corner of Mo Yan’s eye. As their breath mingled, his words were seductive, like an enchantment.
“The only person you ever have to win over… is me.”
The moment the words fell.
Snowflakes began to drift down from the pitch-black sky, clusters and clumps falling gracefully from the dark canopy. Under the bright moonlight, they shimmered with a crystalline luster, beautiful as a dream.
Like ice, yet snow.
In the next instant, a vermilion paper umbrella unfurled silently, shielding them from the flurry of falling snow and enclosing a gentle little world.
Ling Yan watched the snowy scene before him, leaning slightly to reach his hand beyond the umbrella. An icy snowflake landed softly on his palm, bringing a faint chill.
He looked at the snow glittering under the moonlight and couldn’t help but sigh softly.
“So beautiful.”
Mo Yan tilted his head slightly, his golden eyes fixed unwaveringly on Ling Yan’s profile outlined in the moonlight. His voice was deep and earnest.
“To this king, Yan Yan is the most beautiful.”
Hearing this, Ling Yan slowly withdrew his hand, turned his head, and looked back at Mo Yan. His lips pressed together, half-smiling. “The Demon King has a sweet tongue now, spouting sweet words one after another.”
Mo Yan’s expression was gravely serious, his golden eyes churning with dark obsession and sinister possessiveness. “Every word this king speaks comes from the depths of his heart.”
“…”
Ling Yan didn’t reply, only gazed at him with a smile.
The next moment, his wrist was suddenly seized firmly by Mo Yan, his palm pressed against the other’s solid chest. Through the fabric of the clothes, he could clearly feel the powerful heartbeat beneath—
Boom. Boom.
Vibrant, alive, as if pounding against his fingertips.
Mo Yan lowered his lashes, his thick eyelashes trembling slightly, his voice clinging with obsession. “If Yan Yan doesn’t believe me, you may cut out this king’s heart and see for yourself.”
“…”
Ling Yan tried to pull his wrist free but couldn’t budge it at all. He frowned.
“What are you doing?”
Mo Yan still held his hand firmly against his own heart, staring at him without blinking, his gaze deep as an abyss, as if wanting to carve him into his very bones.
After a long pause, he finally spoke slowly.
“Doesn’t Yan Yan most love to cut open hearts to verify the truth? If you don’t believe me, go ahead and scoop out my heart and see it clearly.”
