Chapter 51#

Adding Fairy’s Drunkenness Makes the Immortal’s Drink; Exquisitely Marvelous, As If Floating to Heaven—One Try and You’ll Know.#

The first floor of the casino was in utter chaos, everyone focused on one man, eyes blazing with fanaticism. Chips drifted down from his palm, and cheers and clamor instantly filled the entire space.

Rong Yu laughed unrestrainedly among the crowd, the flickering lamplight smearing a gorgeous, bewitching color at the corner of his eyes—frantic, unrestrained, and untamable. He was the master here.

Only a warm, broad hand rested on his shoulder, pressing down gently.

Rong Yu turned his head and collided with those eyes, deep as concentrated ink. No matter how mad the atmosphere around them became, Chu Tan remained cold, reserved, and unmoved like ice and snow.

The smile curving Rong Yu’s lips gradually faded.

Chu Tan stroked his head and lifted him into his arms horizontally.

Just as they were about to leave, a waiter suddenly appeared, inviting him to the second floor, saying the boss wished to see him.

Compared to the chaos of the first floor, the second floor was much quieter.

On both sides were many rooms, doors tightly shut, with occasionally faint sounds escaping, proving they weren’t empty.

The waiter led them into one of the rooms, asking them to wait a moment.

Chu Tan tried to set Rong Yu down on a chair, but Rong Yu refused, insisting on sitting on his lap. He grabbed the strands of hair Chu Tan had swept forward, his face flushed red, his peach-blossom eyes sparkling as he looked at Chu Tan, the excitement in them not yet faded.

Chu Tan then held him on his lap, lowering his head to kiss him. “Young Master, did you have fun?”

Rong Yu licked his lips, which were stained wet and glossy, like ripe, red fruit.

“Mm.”

This place was filthy, chaotic, and noisy—seemingly the most wretched place imaginable. Rong Yu had never been here, never seen it. The hazy lights and shadows, the interwoven crowd, the shouts and laughter—all of it stimulated his nerves like never before.

Joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness were played out here to the absolute extreme.

You never knew before turning over the cards whether you would win or lose. This uncertainty brought intense tension—heartbeat, blood, nerves—all held tight by the small cards before him.

A person could fall from heaven to hell in an instant, or climb from hell back to heaven in a blink.

Such cliff-like, massive emotional fluctuations were enough to make one addicted.

Even though Rong Yu had never been bound by money, when chips scattered down like rain and he saw those people baring their ugly sides to fight for them, his heart also raced wildly. For the first time, he realized clearly—

—Money could turn people into pigs and dogs.

And he stood above everyone, holding the power of life and death in his hands.

This was the temptation of power.

Still trembling slightly from excitement, Rong Yu raised his arms to wrap around Chu Tan’s neck, pressing his cheek against the young man’s neck. Feeling the familiar warmth of his body and listening to his steady, strong heartbeat, the surging emotions within him gradually subsided.

Chu Tan noticed Rong Yu’s icy fingertips and took the young master’s hand, warming it against his own cheek while stroking his back with his palm.

Rong Yu slowly calmed down. His red lips brushed against the corner of Chu Tan’s mouth in a fleeting kiss, like a reward. A hint of lazy languor after the madness lingered in his eyes, his soft body leaning against the young man’s chest like boneless.

Chu Tan’s gaze darkened slightly, the hand resting on Rong Yu’s waist gradually tightening.

Just then, the door opened and a middle-aged man in his thirties or forties, portly and with a large belly, walked in.

“Kept you waiting, sir. Truly, truly my apologies.” The middle-aged man smiled at Rong Yu, his fleshy face folding into several greasy wrinkles.

Behind him followed a waiter carrying a teapot, with two paper-wrapped packages on the tray, respectfully placed on the coffee table.

Chu Tan glanced at them, his eyes turning gloomy.

Rong Yu showed no expression. “I wonder what business the boss has, calling me up here?”

“My surname is Wang. May I ask the young master’s name?”

Rong Yu sat in Chu Tan’s lap, toying with his distinct, boned fingers, and said carelessly, “Boss Wang, if you have something to say, just say it.”

Not receiving a response, Boss Wang wasn’t angered. His gaze swept over Rong Yu and Chu Tan twice, making his calculations, and he sat down with a chuckle.

“Just now upstairs, I saw the young master’s generous and heroic display of spending a fortune. It truly made me envious. I’d like to make friends with you, young master.”

Rong Yu raised an eyebrow, his eyes scanning Boss Wang’s disheveled breathing, messy collar, and the beads of sweat on his neck, a flicker of interest passing through his gaze. This Boss Wang had clearly just come from some lover’s bed—yet he claimed he saw it with his own eyes.

Someone must have tipped him off, saying he was causing trouble downstairs.

Rong Yu glanced sideways at Boss Wang, a natural, defiant arrogance surfacing on his face, clearly spelling out the words “You think you’re worthy?”

Quite the arrogance.

A flash of gloom quickly vanished from Boss Wang’s eyes, and he quickly gave himself a way out. “Seeing the young master’s elegant and noble bearing, you must be of high status. My apologies for my rashness.”

Rong Yu gave an ambiguous “hmph.”

Boss Wang: “Although Pai Gow has only thirty-two cards, there are hundreds of variations. Winning several dozen rounds in all three doors—such a result is rarely achieved since my casino opened. So young and with such divine skill, it’s truly admirable.”

His words carried hidden meaning, profound and suggestive.

Rong Yu looked at him calmly.

Boss Wang chuckled softly. “I wonder… who was your teacher?”

Gambling had no formal masters; if there was skill, it was cheating.

“Boss Wang, are you accusing me of cheating?”

The room was brightly lit, yet a shadow seemed to cloud Rong Yu’s brow and eyes.

“No, no, not at all. I merely admire the young master greatly.” Boss Wang waved his hands.

Normally, if someone risked cheating, it was to win money. But this young man before him was clearly of noble birth, and had scattered a huge amount of chips downstairs—he obviously didn’t care about money at all. So why would he cheat?

Boss Wang couldn’t understand and naturally didn’t dare jump to conclusions.

“I thought Boss Wang, upon seeing anyone win money, would accuse them of cheating just to detain them,” Rong Yu said, his tone light and airy.

He lowered his eyes, playing with Chu Tan’s hand, placing his own hand on top to compare sizes. Chu Tan then squeezed it, his slender fingers slipping between the gaps, transferring dry, warm heat into his palm.

Boss Wang smiled awkwardly and wiped the sweat from his neck. If that rumor got out, his casino would be finished. Accusing guests of cheating after they won money just to detain them—who would dare come to play in the future?

“Of course not. Our Thousand Gold Casino’s reputation has always been excellent. We would never do such despicable, shameless things.”

Boss Wang’s face broke into a smile. “It was my poor choice of words, offending you. Allow me to pour tea as an apology.”

He opened the paper package, poured powder into the teapot, then slowly poured out a cup, pushing it toward Rong Yu. “Please, young master.”

Rong Yu’s gaze fell on the cup of tea. The surface rippled slightly; the tea was clear enough to see the bottom. The powder must dissolve instantly upon contact with water, leaving no trace.

He picked up the teacup and gently swirled it. “This is the Fairy’s Drunkenness?”

Boss Wang narrowed his eyes. “You’ve heard of it?”

Rong Yu said: “Just now downstairs, I saw someone drinking it. Judging by his expression, it seemed this tea was exquisitely marvelous.”

“This tea is just ordinary green tea. The magic lies here.” Boss Wang pointed at the paper package with his chubby finger. “Add the Fairy’s Drunkenness, and it becomes the Immortal’s Drink. The taste is exquisitely marvelous, as if floating to heaven. One try and you’ll know.”

Boss Wang’s tone was full of admiration for the tea, making one want to taste it after hearing him.

Rong Yu seemed truly persuaded. He brought the cup to his face and sniffed lightly—no scent.

Boss Wang’s gaze burned intensely at him, but then Rong Yu looked over and said, “Drinking tea alone is hardly any fun. Why doesn’t Boss Wang join me?”

Boss Wang laughed. “The Fairy’s Drunkenness is precious; only honored guests may drink it. I’m not worthy.”

Rong Yu chuckled softly. Suddenly, his other hand was pinched. A cold, spring-like voice came from behind. “Young Master, it’s late. Time to go home.”

Rong Yu shot him a look and set the cup down. “No manners. How can I refuse such kindness from Boss Wang?”

Boss Wang’s eyes darted, and he picked up the other sealed paper package, offering it with both hands. “Today I offended you, young master. This package of Fairy’s Drunkenness is a small token of apology. Please accept it.”

Rong Yu stared down at it for a long moment, a faint, cold smile touching his lips. He reached out to take it. “In that case, thank you, Boss Wang.”

The two stepped out, and from the adjacent room came a seductive moan, accompanied by a man’s rough voice.

Rong Yu’s brow twitched slightly. So the second floor was used for this. This casino truly had a rich variety of services.

The moment they left, the fat on Boss Wang’s face drooped. His small eyes filled with gloom. He called someone over and ordered, “Follow them. Find out where they’re from. In Yangzhou City, I’ve never seen this person before.”

The man nodded in acknowledgment, but after going downstairs for only a moment, he returned. “Boss, Chen Wu followed them.”

Chen Wu was the one who had been dealing and winning money until Rong Yu disrupted his game.

Boss Wang’s expression shifted, recalling how Chen Wu had come pounding on his door earlier, urgently claiming someone downstairs was cheating. It was likely he himself had been caught cheating and was too impatient to wait, so he came up to tattle.

Now, blinded by greed, he wanted to rob the fat sheep.

Boss Wang cursed angrily, “That idiot! How many times have I told him not to pull this kind of thing in my place? A leopard can’t change its spots! Send someone to check on it!”

After all, he was his wife’s brother. Though stupid and greedy, he couldn’t just let him get into trouble. Besides, he could use this idiot to test the two of them.

Judging from everything the young man had shown, he was exactly the type of spoiled young master whose emotions were written all over his face—arrogant, rude, and ignorant of his own limits. Boss Wang also thought of the paper package he’d given Rong Yu before they left. He squinted and smiled Negative ly. Once he tasted it, they’d have no fear of him not returning. Such a “big customer” had to be firmly secured.

It was already past midnight, the night stretched long, and the main street was deserted.

Rong Yu lay on Chu Tan’s back, the paper package held between his fingertips, toying with it. Chu Tan seemed to have eyes in the back of his head and said, “Young Master, put the thing away. Don’t take it out and play with it.”

Rong Yu patted Chu Tan’s head hard and snorted. “Are you teaching me what to do?”

Chu Tan sighed helplessly. “This isn’t something good. I’m afraid you might take it by mistake.”

“But it’s called Fairy’s Drunkenness,” Rong Yu said, mimicking the tone of that musician father of his, floatingly. “Drink the Fairy’s Drunkenness, and you’ll be as happy as an immortal.”

Hot breath deliberately brushed against Chu Tan’s ear. Chu Tan’s gaze deepened, and the hand gripping the base of Rong Yu’s thigh tightened slightly, his voice hoarse. “Don’t be difficult, Young Master.”

“I’m not,” Rong Yu replied, wrapping his arms around his neck. His fingers pressed lightly on his prominent Adam’s apple. It rolled, and his hand slid down with it, all the way into Chu Tan’s collar, kneading the young man’s full chest muscles.

Chu Tan’s breath hitched, his body tensing. The chest muscles felt hard to the touch. Rong Yu laughed and bit gently on the tip of his ear, his voice low, soft, and ambiguous. “Find a place, hmm?”

Chu Tan’s steps faltered for a second. The next moment, the world spun, and Rong Yu was lifted to the front, tightly wrapped in the cloak. Rong Yu looked up at him, only to see the young man’s face cold and stern, his eyes darkly fixed ahead.

The long street was desolate, wind sending dead leaves rustling down, and several figures gradually emerged from the darkness.

The one in front was quite familiar—it was Chen Wu.

Rong Yu sneered, “I wondered who it was. Turns out it’s the little brat crying thief while being one himself.”

After Boss Wang had called them upstairs, he’d guessed the informant was this petty, lowly character before him.

This naked mockery made Chen Wu’s expression even more sinister. “How did you figure it out?”

Rong Yu just laughed at him. “Your methods are too clumsy, and your speed too slow. I bet you only dare play at night, right?”

The deck Chen Wu had used was quite old, with scratches of varying depths on the backs. In dim candlelight, it wasn’t easy to notice, but the dealer shuffling could see them. While shuffling, he memorized which card corresponded to which back, then controlled the dice rolls to deal the good cards to himself.

It was a very simple method, but at night, it was hard to see clearly. Plus, the surrounding gamblers weren’t experts. Moreover, the casino had strict rules—cheaters got their fingers chopped off. Who would think Chen Wu and Boss Wang were close enough to cheat so brazenly?

Hearing this, Chen Wu’s eyes grew even more venomous. “You were cheating too! I don’t believe your luck is that good—you could win every hand!”

“Mmm…” Rong Yu couldn’t be bothered to explain. He tilted his head. “Whether my luck is good or not, I don’t know. But I know your luck isn’t very good.”

His tone was light and cheerful. “You’re about to have some bad luck!”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Chu Tan shot forward like an arrow from the bowstring toward Chen Wu. Since the other party had come looking for trouble with two men in tow, he wouldn’t give them the first move.

Chu Tan held Rong Yu around the waist with one arm, his other hand gripping a short dagger tightly, rushing forward.

The three men’s pupils contracted; dodging was too late—they could only brace themselves. Chu Tan leaped up, dodging the oncoming blade, and kicked the man in the neck, breaking it instantly. At the same time, his dagger slashed across the other man’s eyes. Blood sprayed instantly, and the man covered his eyes and collapsed, wailing in agony.

In the darkness, Chu Tan moved like a ghost, dispatching two of them in an instant before stopping before Chen Wu.

Chen Wu was terrified. He hadn’t expected the guard beside Rong Yu to be so formidable. Originally, he’d just wanted to rob some money and vent a bit, but now his own life might be forfeit.

He collapsed to his knees with a thud, crying and begging for mercy.

Chu Tan’s gaze was indifferent and cold, ready to step on his neck and break it, when Rong Yu softly said, “Wait.”

Chu Tan paused and looked at him.

Rong Yu pulled out the paper package and waved it in front of Chen Wu’s eyes. His red lips curved upward, like a demon whispering, “Drink the Fairy’s Drunkenness, and you’ll be as happy as an immortal~”

When the men sent by Boss Wang arrived, only three figures, like dead dogs, remained on the long street.
