Chapter 98#
What Is This if Not Losing Control?#
“Jian Yunchen, what are you doing now?”
Jian Yunchen’s heart skipped a beat from the scare. After clarifying Qin Mu’s face by the moonlight, his expression darkened instantly in the next second, and he reached out to push him away.
He lowered his voice and hissed: “Let go of me!”
Qin Mu’s arms only tightened further. He looked at Jian Yunchen, the smile in his eyes deepening. The two were hiding behind the shadows of the trees; in order to avoid being discovered, Jian Yunchen didn’t even dare to make any large movements to resist, which instead made things easier for Qin Mu.
Qin Mu pressed closer and whispered a “Shh” against his ear.
The warm breath brushed against his earlobe, and the familiar sensation caused Jian Yunchen’s body to feel a shameful moment of weakness.
He bit his lower lip, his movements quieting down. He gave Qin Mu a fierce glare, only to see Qin Mu teasingly raise an eyebrow toward the front, looking like he was enjoying a good show.
Jian Yunchen followed his gaze and looked forward—
He saw Qin Zheng suddenly rush forward, grab Jiang Yun寒, cup his face, and make a move as if to kiss him.
The man’s eyes were blood-red. Even from several paces away, one could vaguely glimpse the look of madness in Qin Zheng’s eyes.
Jian Yunchen watched this scene in silence, but his heart quietly tightened.
He stole a glance at Qin Mu from the corner of his eye, but Qin Mu’s expression was the polar opposite of what he had imagined.
The corners of Qin Mu’s lips were slightly curled, his eyes full of interest—he even looked like a spectator who didn’t think the chaos was big enough.
Jian Yunchen frowned slightly, turned to face him, and asked in a hushed voice: “Are you enjoying the view?”
The confrontation over there had already reached a fever pitch. Qin Mu was watching with great interest; hearing the question, he looked down at Jian Yunchen.
Jian Yunchen seemed to have grown accustomed to being held by Qin Mu; after a while, his body had already relaxed. His supple body was pressed closely against him, and a faint, lingering fragrance surrounded him.
Qin Mu leaned in slightly. He lingeringly nuzzled the bridge of his nose against Jian Yunchen’s cool cheek. His voice was soft, lingering, and seductive:
“It’s alright. Not as good-looking as you.”
Jian Yunchen’s body stiffened. A large flush of red quickly spread from his cheek. He dodged Qin Mu’s touch, bracing his arm against him, and said through gritted teeth: “Enough, Qin Mu! Stop playing with me!”
“How can this be considered playing?”
Qin Mu grabbed his wrist, brought it to his lips, and dropped a kiss upon it.
His lips rubbed slowly and gently against the skin.
“This is clearly a case of being unable to restrain oneself.”
The moment I see you, I can’t help but want to come closer, wanting your eyes to look only at me, wanting your expressions to change vividly only because of me.
What is this if not losing control?
Jian Yunchen froze in place because of Qin Mu’s actions.
Qin Mu’s eyes were half-closed. The moonlight spilled over his profile, outlining a sharp silhouette. His hot lips fell tenderly on the wrist, the temperature transmitting through the pulse.
At that moment, the sound of scuffling came from the other side. Jian Yunchen snapped back to his senses and pulled his hand back.
Jiang Yunhan shoved Qin Zheng away, his eyes brimming with tears. Qin Zheng stumbled back several steps.
Jian Yunchen retracted his gaze and gripped his own wrist with his other hand. The temperature on the inside of his wrist felt as if it had been branded there. His gaze turned cold as he looked at Qin Mu: “I warned you, Qin Mu. Don’t show up in front of me again, or you’ll regret it.”
Finding his arms empty, Qin Mu raised an eyebrow and asked: “Will I?”
Jian Yunchen stepped forward, grabbed his collar, and pulled him down. The two stood eye to eye, their breaths intermingling at such close proximity. Jian Yunchen’s gaze was serious and full of provocation: “I won’t let you have your way. You want to marry Jiang Yunhan?”
“Heh.” He gave a cold laugh: “You’re dreaming.”
Qin Mu actually found it amusing. He lowered his head and gently pressed his lips against Jian Yunchen’s clenched fist on his collar, his tone full of laughter: “Then I want to have an affair with you. Is that okay?”
Jian Yunchen’s movements stalled, and a rolling fire of rage ignited in his gut again. Ignoring the possibility of being discovered by Jiang Yunhan, he raised his fist and swung.
Qin Mu caught his hand, pulled him forward, and swung him around to pin him tightly in his arms.
He embraced Jian Yunchen from behind, leaning in close. From the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of Jian Yunchen’s eyes, which were red with frustration and brimming with moisture. The watery light shimmered slightly under the moon, but he stubbornly refused to let the tears fall.
Qin Mu sighed softly. His arms tightened as he nuzzled against Jian Yunchen’s cheek, asking softly: “Do you really think this marriage can actually happen?”
Jian Yunchen was stunned. Following Qin Mu’s gaze, he saw the two people who were just in a confrontation were now somehow kissing. Jiang Yunhan had been resisting violently at first, but as Qin Zheng pressed closer, his resistance grew weaker and weaker, becoming increasingly powerless.
Jian Yunchen’s heart felt a pang of bitterness, and a tear finally fell.
A cool dampness stained Qin Mu’s cheek. He pulled away slightly, looking down at Jian Yunchen’s tear-stained eyelashes. His tight embrace loosened slightly. His heart softened, and he turned his face to coax him softly: “What are you crying for again? Your brother is being kissed by someone else, and you’re getting upset?”
Jian Yunchen’s sadness was interrupted by him. He turned his damp eyes toward him. “Did you know all along that Jiang Yunhan doesn’t like you, so you’re just settling for the next best thing?”
The more he spoke, the more the bitterness in his heart became uncontrollable. Jian Yunchen’s tears kept flowing, crying so much that Qin Mu didn’t know what to do.
He pulled Jian Yunchen into his arms and couldn’t help but sigh softly: “Stop crying, alright? This has nothing to do with Jiang Yunhan. I have reasons why I must do this.”
Jian Yunchen’s crying weakened. He leaned gently against Qin Mu’s shoulder and whispered: “Qin Mu, are you planning to do something? Tell me, okay…”
Qin Mu’s hand, which was gently stroking his back, paused. He glanced at him and smiled with curled lips: “Trying to bait me for information again?”
Jian Yunchen’s spine stiffened. Being called out turned his shame into rage. He raised his leg and kicked out, hitting Qin Mu’s shin. He shoved Qin Mu away violently. The redness at the corners of his eyes had not yet faded, and the anger on his face was clearly visible: “Get lost! I never want to see you again!”
He hadn’t held back his strength with that kick. Qin Mu’s leg went numb instantly. He clutched his shin and watched Jian Yunchen’s angry retreating back, a helpless smile appearing on his lips.
The other side was also reaching its conclusion. Jiang Yunhan pushed Qin Zheng away and left in a panic, leaving Qin Zheng standing alone, a bleak silhouette.
Qin Mu smacked his lips, actually feeling a bit of a “kindred spirits” vibe.
He quickly put away those slightly sorrowful thoughts, straightened his coat, and walked out.
Qin Zheng whipped his head around at the sound. In the dim light, his sharp features cast a large shadow, and his eyes were full of gloom. After seeing Qin Mu, his face darkened abruptly, looking entirely provoked.
Qin Mu walked leisurely to his side, his eyes glancing flippantly in the direction Jiang Yunhan had left. He raised an eyebrow teasingly: “He’s already far away. Haven’t you seen enough?”
Qin Zheng’s face was grim and he didn’t respond, but an intimidating aura swirled around him.
“Tsk, tsk.” Qin Mu clicked his tongue twice and said regretfully: “You really should look a few more times. You won’t have the chance in the future. Don’t you agree? Manager Qin?”
Qin Zheng had been removed from his post and was under investigation due to dereliction of duty. This title was nothing short of adding fuel to the fire.
A furious red burned in Qin Zheng’s eyes. He clenched his fists and said coldly: “You saw everything. Then you should understand that Xiao Han has me in his heart. What are you to him?”
Qin Mu gave a provocative smile. Each word was delivered clearly into Qin Zheng’s ears:
“So what?”
“In the end, he will only be mine.”
He paused, his gaze landing on Qin Zheng’s face, the contempt in his eyes completely undisguised.
“And you—the son of a mistress—what do you even count for?”
