Chapter 96#

A Jealous Man#

“Manager Qin, such a temper. You come in and immediately grab my collar; if I were a bit more faint-hearted, I’m afraid I’d have to spend a few days in the hospital.”

Qin Zheng gnashed his teeth, his hands propped against the desk as he glared at him with resentment.

“It was you, wasn’t it? This was all your setup. You are ‘President Shan,’ and Tang Rong was just a pawn in your game!”

Qin Mu rested his face on one hand, the corners of his lips curling into an interested smile. “I don’t quite understand what you mean, Manager Qin. You were the one clamoring for a partnership back then, and now you’re the one claiming it was my setup.”

He frowned slightly, looking quite troubled: “You really are hard to please, Qin Zheng.”

Qin Zheng’s fingertips tightened. He stared at him, his eyes filled with humiliation and hatred.

When rumors first spread that Qin Mu was the “President Shan” behind “Zhaohui,” he hadn’t believed it at first. But what followed was Tang Rong’s disappearance.

Only then did Qin Zheng realize that from start to finish, every step had been a trap to lure him in.

First, “Zhaohui” released news that they were looking for a partner.

Then, they let Qin Zheng board the ship, even going as far as being willing to cede the majority of the profits.

However, Qin Mu held firm on the Qin Corporation’s side, forcing Qin Zheng to contact Tang Rong and use his company’s inventory to complete the deal.

Now the money has been paid, but Tang Rong has vanished. Moreover, there was an issue with the goods, and they were sent back.

Because of this major blunder, the Qin Corporation’s capital chain had ruptured. The financing they had previously negotiated with “Shiqi” had also fallen through. Qin Yanchen was so anxious that blisters had broken out on the corners of his mouth.

Qin Mu leaned back against his chair, his eyes brimming with playful mockery as he looked up at him. “If Manager Qin has time to waste in my office, why not go back to your company and figure out a way to make up for the missing goods?”

He enunciated every word, his tone full of provocation: “Otherwise, the liquidated damages will be very heavy.”

Qin Zheng paused, his eyes fixed on Qin Mu as if he wanted to tear his skin and eat his flesh.

He straightened up, his face as dark as ink, and said in a cold voice:

“Qin Mu, this isn’t over.”

Qin Mu maintained his smiling expression, even blinking innocently at him with a look of anticipation: “Alright, Manager Qin, I can hardly wait.”

Qin Zheng turned and left.

Qin Mu’s smile faded slightly. He propped up his cheek, his fingertips tapping rhythmically against his face. He glanced at Ji Weiyi, who had just entered the room. “Call the police.”

Ji Weiyi’s footsteps faltered slightly.

“Tang Rong hasn’t had the chance to flee the country yet. Send them his location. Make sure he can never make a comeback.”

Ji Weiyi smiled and nodded in agreement.

The next time he saw Qin Zheng was three days later.

He looked much more disheveled, with obvious dark circles under his eyes. His entire aura was oppressive and heavy. At this moment, he had just come out of Jian Yunchen’s office and was talking to him with his eyes downcast. Jian Yunchen stood with his arms crossed, leaning against the doorframe; his gaze froze when he saw Qin Mu.

Qin Mu hooked his arm around Qin Zheng’s shoulder and pulled him over, his voice carrying a hint of a laugh: “What are you chatting about? Why don’t you tell me too?”

Jian Yunchen gave a cold sneer and replied gloomily: “We’re discussing how to kill you. Want to listen in?”

Qin Mu thought about it and actually nodded, raising a provocative eyebrow at him: “Make me… die from pleasure then.”

“Bang—”

Without a word, Jian Yunchen slammed the door shut. Qin Mu rubbed his nose and smiled helplessly.

Qin Zheng shook off his arm with disdain, but the moment he turned around, his arm was seized.

Qin Mu gripped his arm tightly. His tone was smiling, but his eyes were ice-cold: “Where are you going in such a hurry? What were you talking about just now?”

Qin Zheng was stunned, then suddenly began to laugh.

He leaned close to Qin Mu’s ear and whispered: “Qin Mu, you’ve provoked a mad dog like Jian Yunchen. Do you think he’ll just let you go?”

“With his temper, if he doesn’t strip a layer of skin off you, he’ll at least bite off a chunk of meat. I want to see just how many more days of luxury you can enjoy.”

Qin Mu’s expression shifted before returning to his usual lazy self. He released his grip with a smile, his eyes cool and devoid of emotion: “Thank you for the reminder.”

Qin Zheng choked on his words. His intended warning had lost its sting. He said no more and turned to walk away.

Qin Mu’s gaze darkened slightly as he watched his retreating back. After a long moment, he withdrew his gaze and turned toward Jiang Sheng’s office.

Because of Qin Mu, the relationship between the two brothers, which was already on thin ice, had completely shattered. When they met at the company, Jian Yunchen would even ignore Jiang Yunhan directly. Holding a large stack of documents, he walked straight past Jiang Yunhan. Jiang Yunhan followed him, asking in a cautious tone, “Xiaochen, is it heavy? Let me help you carry half, okay?”

Jian Yunchen gave him a cold glance, then suddenly smiled radiantly. He handed over all the documents in his hands and said loudly, “Then I’ll trouble you, Brother. These all need to be delivered to the warehouse.”

Jiang Yunhan caught them steadily. Seeing the smile on Jian Yunchen’s face, he felt a slight relief. His brow relaxed as he followed Jian Yunchen to the company’s underground warehouse.

The documents needed to be sorted and filed according to the yearly catalog. Jiang Yunhan bent over to check the information before archiving it. Jian Yunchen leaned against the wall outside the door with his arms crossed, silently watching Jiang Yunhan’s back.

He tilted his chin up, the emotions in his eyes gradually turning sinister and crazed. His gaze fell on the lock of the door; the key was hidden in his pocket. Once the underground warehouse was locked, no one would enter or leave. Even if it was just for one night—even if only for one night—he wanted Jiang Yunhan to taste the feeling of being abandoned by everyone, to make him suffer just as he had…

Before his fingertips could touch the door.

In the next instant, his vision was covered by a palm, plunging him into sudden darkness. His body was dragged into a smaller storage room by an irresistible force.

The door let out a loud “Bang.”

Jiang Yunhan’s body trembled. He looked back in confusion, only to see the large door wide open with not a soul in sight.

He sighed softly, assuming Jian Yunchen had left him and gone back alone.

Meanwhile, Jian Yunchen, who had been dragged into the storage room, was pinned against the door. A firm chest was pressed tight against him; the all-too-familiar touch made his body go numb. He immediately began to struggle. Qin Mu’s hand loosened slightly. The second his vision returned, his jaw was clamped and he was forced to look up at the man behind him.

In the dim light, Qin Mu’s eyes looked extremely deep. He leaned in, his breath easily causing half of Jian Yunchen’s face to turn red.

“Doing something bad again, Jian Yunchen?”

Jian Yunchen bit his lip and glared at him fiercely, struggling violently as he hissed: “Get lost, let go of me!”

Qin Mu tightened his grip, tilting Jian Yunchen’s face up slightly. He lowered his head, sniffing the scent on Jian Yunchen’s neck.

His eyes gradually darkened, and his tone became terrifyingly cold.

“You have Qin Zheng’s scent on you.”

“Did he touch you?”

Qin Mu pressed firmly against him, letting go of his wrist to stroke his shoulder instead. The movement was gentle, but his tone grew colder and colder.

“Did he touch you here?”

“Or here?”

His palm slid downward, inciting waves of tremors. Finally, his hot hand firmly gripped Jian Yunchen’s lower back. Qin Mu whispered against his ear:

“What about here? Did you let him touch this, too?”
