Chapter 82#

A Fierce Love Quadrangle?!#

“It’s okay, brother, I also feel that my current abilities are insufficient and I should learn more from you.”

Jiang Sheng’s expression grew colder. He ignored Jian Yunchen’s sarcastic tone and instead focused his gaze on Jiang Yunhan.

His tone deepened, “Xiao Han, don’t disappoint me.”

All of Jiang Yunhan’s words were swallowed after this sentence.

From childhood to adulthood, once Jiang Sheng said this, there was no room for negotiation. Not only that, but he had to go all out and do his best.

This was not only Jiang Sheng’s expectation of him but also his requirement.

It had always been this way.

So it would be the same this time.

He had no right to say okay, nor did he have the option to say no.

Jiang Yunhan quietly glanced at Jian Yunchen, but the other person’s expression was not as bad as he had imagined.

He secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

The meeting ended, and Jiang Sheng left first.

Jiang Yunhan followed Jian Yunchen, his face showing hesitation. He softly called out to Jian Yunchen, “Xiao Chen…”

Jian Yunchen’s steps paused slightly, and he turned to look at him.

After the hypocritical smile faded, his dark, lustrous eyes stared at him like a cold, venomous snake.

In an instant, it changed subtly, as if nothing had happened.

Jian Yunchen smiled, “What is it?”

Jiang Yunhan paused for a moment before recovering from the eerie atmosphere. He pursed his lips and explained, “Xiao Chen, I know you put a lot of effort into this plan… I will discuss it with Dad again—”

“It’s fine,” Jian Yunchen interrupted. He looked at Jiang Yunhan, a smile on his lips. “Brother, you don’t need to have any psychological burden. Since it’s Mr. Jiang’s intention, we’ll do as he says. As long as it brings profit to the company in the end, it doesn’t matter who is responsible.”

As his words fell, a heavy stone in Jiang Yunhan’s heart was lifted. He breathed a long sigh of relief, and the smile on his face widened. “Xiao Chen, it’s great that you think this way. You’re right, as long as it’s for the good of the company…”

Jian Yunchen walked alongside him, listening to his excited words, the smile on his face almost stiff.

He sneered in his heart, company profits? What did that have to do with him?

The moment the elevator doors opened, a familiar face entered Jian Yunchen’s sight.

The person was furious, tears still on her face, her exquisite makeup and hair messy and disheveled. Her eyes were red as she scanned them both.

Jian Yunchen’s expression quickly turned cold. This was Yan Yi, whom he had only heard about from Jiang Yunhan last night and who was now with Qin Mu.

Yan Yi’s gaze flickered between their faces. Her delicate eyebrows furrowed, and she demanded, “Which one of you is Jiang Yunhan?!”

Jian Yunchen, who was about to speak, quietly closed his mouth again.

Miss Yan probably hadn’t realized yet that it was him on the cruise ship that night.

He subtly glanced at Jiang Yunhan beside him.

Jiang Yunhan frowned. He didn’t have a good impression of this Miss Yan, but the company was a public place, and he didn’t want to make a scene.

He replied in a low voice, “Miss Yan, I am Jiang Yunhan. If you need me, we can go to—”

“Slap—”

The crisp sound of a slap came unexpectedly.

Jiang Yunhan turned his head slightly, and a palm print quickly appeared on his face.

“You seduced Qin Mu?!”

The girl’s accusation was direct and fierce, as if she wanted to get back a thousandfold the humiliation she had suffered from Qin Mu.

Jiang Yunhan covered half of his face, and was soon stunned by her next words.

Who seduced Qin Mu?!

Seeing Jiang Yunhan’s silence, Yan Yi’s lingering anger flared up again. She raised her hand again, but before it could fall, her wrist was caught in Jian Yunchen’s hand.

She struggled, but her grip tightened. Yan Yi looked up at Jian Yunchen, her eyes sharp, and scolded, “Let go of my hand! Don’t touch me!”

Jian Yunchen sneered. With a skillful move, he twisted Yan Yi’s hand behind her back and pressed her against the wall. He leaned close to Yan Yi’s ear and whispered, “If you don’t want everyone to know that you’re a lunatic, then behave yourself.”

Yan Yi’s back stiffened, and the madness in her eyes flickered. She turned her head and glared at him coldly, “Lunatic? That’s better than you perverts.”

She looked past Jian Yunchen at Jiang Yunhan behind him, her tone resentful, her words full of accusation, “You lied to me! You said you had nothing with Qin Mu!”

Jiang Yunhan froze. He looked at Jian Yunchen and quickly blurted out, “We really have nothing!”

“You’re lying!” Yan Yi retorted loudly. “Qin Mu said it himself, he kissed you, touched you, and wanted to sleep with you!”

Jian Yunchen’s eyes narrowed, and he completely let go.

He slowly turned his head to look at Jiang Yunhan.

Jiang Yunhan had participated in many debate competitions and speeches, but for the first time, he understood what it meant to be unable to defend oneself.

“That wasn’t me…”

Yan Yi rubbed her wrist and looked up with a frown, “What wasn’t you?”

Jiang Yunhan: “…”

He fell silent again.

The company was full of people, and the fierce argument had already attracted a lot of attention. He didn’t want to add fuel to the gossip and pull Jian Yunchen into it, making it an even more sensational love quadrangle.

The rumors about the substitute were still circulating hotly.

Telling the truth now would only add a not-so-new piece of news.

Yan Yi’s suspicious gaze slowly turned firm, “It was you, and you’re still lying—”

“Shut up!” Jian Yunchen glared at her coldly.

The subtle glances and discussions from the surrounding people made him extremely uncomfortable. He grabbed Yan Yi’s hand and threw her into the elevator.

Yan Yi staggered, holding onto the handrail to avoid falling. Before she could even react in surprise, Jian Yunchen had already pressed the button for the first floor and closed the elevator doors.

The elevator doors, ignoring her struggles, slowly closed and began to descend with a beep.

Jian Yunchen took out his phone and dialed security.

“Get that crazy woman sent to the first floor and never let her in again!”

After receiving a reply, he quickly hung up.

He glanced at Jiang Yunhan, and the palm print on his side profile was incredibly jarring.

He couldn’t even dodge a woman’s slap.

Useless.

Jian Yunchen, unsure who he was angry at, pursed his lips and turned to leave.

He quickly went down the stairs, floor after floor, the sound of his footsteps echoing in the empty stairwell, again and again. His thoughts were a chaotic mess, and it wasn’t until he reached the third floor that the intense emotions in his chest, which had nowhere to be released, slightly subsided.

Yan Yi was long gone from the first floor. It was exactly after work, and the lobby was bustling with people coming and going, figures crossing paths. Jian Yunchen’s accelerated heartbeat slowly calmed down.

As he pushed open the main door, he unexpectedly saw a figure outside.

His heart, which had just calmed down, began to beat faster again.
