Chapter 70#

“A perk.”#

Jian Yunshen’s ear tips were flushed red.

Looking at the mischievous smile on Qin Mu’s lips, he subconsciously thought in that direction.

But he didn’t expect that he had misunderstood this time.

He raised his hands and gently rested them on Qin Mu’s shoulders, tilting his head up to lean in, but Qin Mu dodged away.

Qin Mu raised an eyebrow: “So proactive?”

Jian Yunshen’s face turned beet red, not expecting that he had misunderstood.

Just as he was about to get up, he was pulled back down by Qin Mu, who then directly guided him to sit astride his lap.

Before he could struggle, Qin Mu was a step ahead, grabbing his hands and restraining them behind his waist.

The distance was extremely close; Qin Mu only needed to slightly tilt his head to touch Jian Yunshen’s lips.

He was never one to deny himself; what he wanted to do wouldn’t wait for the next second.

So, in this second, Qin Mu easily kissed those sweet lips.

This time it wasn’t peach-flavored.

But it was still sweet.

His restrained hands were released, and Jian Yunshen regained freedom, but he only wrapped them around Qin Mu’s neck, obediently deepening the kiss.

When they separated, his rosy lips were even more vibrant. Qin Mu caressed his lips, his voice hoarse:

“This isn’t a ‘perk’.”

Jian Yunshen slightly narrowed his eyes, tentatively cupping his hand and sticking out the tip of his tongue to lick his thumb.

The darkness in Qin Mu’s eyes deepened, containing a hint of an approaching storm.

He pinched Jian Yunshen’s chin, pulling him closer, his tone a little dangerous:

“You’ve learned to be naughty, who taught you?”

“Mm…”

Jian Yunshen struggled a little, but was pinched even tighter. He felt somewhat wronged, staring at him: “Didn’t I learn it from you?!”

“Pervert!”

Qin Mu’s grip loosened; instead, he held his wrist, brought it to his own lips, and placed a kiss.

Jian Yunshen felt the warmth of the lips on the inside of his wrist and slowly quieted down. He seemed to lose all strength in his body, his fingertips didn’t even have the strength to curl, he just quietly lowered his eyes, allowing Qin Mu to gently rub it with his lips.

“So obedient.”

Qin Mu said softly.

Jian Yunshen, receiving praise, pursed his lips and buried his head in Qin Mu’s shoulder. His wrist, however, was still clasped in Qin Mu’s palm, constantly rubbing the spot where a tooth mark had been left before.

Jian Yunshen’s ear tips were hot, and he secretly grumbled to himself, guessing Qin Mu really was born in the year of the dog, biting him whenever he saw him.

And uncontrollably, amidst this displeasure, was mixed a faint sweetness.

He didn’t dislike this.

“Then what ‘perk’ do you want?”

With the person leaning in his arms, Qin Mu wasn’t as boisterous anymore.

His palm slid down the line of his spine.

Jian Yunshen slowly grew nervous.

But unexpectedly, what Qin Mu said was:

“Have lunch with me. Why have you lost so much weight?”

Jian Yunshen was silent for a long time. He gently rubbed Qin Mu’s neck with his cheek, a ticklish sensation coming over him.

He always liked to make small gestures full of lingering affection.

These actions were always, at all times, comforting Qin Mu’s heart.

Jian Yunshen buried himself in his arms, his voice muffled, saying: “Okay.”

Qin Mu hooked his lips in satisfaction, and tilted his head to drop a kiss among his hair.

All of this was clearly seen by Jiang Yunhan from around the corner.

He held in his hand a copy of the proposal Jian Yunshen had presented that afternoon, in which there were many red-marked sections.

Jiang Yunhan watched quietly, but his brows furrowed tighter and tighter.

When Jian Yunshen worked, his level of obsession was on par with Qin Mu’s. After Qin Mu stayed up most of the previous night accompanying him to revise the proposal, the next day at noon Qin Mu came to claim his “perk.”

After being made to finish his meal, Jian Yunshen was eager to go and coordinate with other departments, leaving Qin Mu alone in the office and running off.

Since Qin Mu had come out of the company, he wasn’t in such a hurry to leave. He sat in Jian Yunshen’s office chair, boredly rummaging through his things, his gaze sweeping around to see if there were any pink items.

“Qin Mu.”

A finger gently tapped on the table, and Qin Mu followed the sound, looking up.

An unusually familiar face.

He lazily smiled, in a casual tone: “A rare guest, what brings you here?”

Qin Mu wasn’t that generous; he still clearly remembered Jiang Yunhan discussing him behind his back yesterday.

However, he did look at Jiang Yunhan with new eyes.

As expected of the protagonist, he still had the brains he should have.

“Qin Mu, I want to talk to you.”

The smile in Qin Mu’s eyes slightly receded, and his face grew cold, but Jiang Yunhan looked at him without backing down.

The stagnant atmosphere was broken by Qin Mu’s laugh: “Why so serious? Just say what you want to say.”

“This isn’t the place to talk. Let’s go to the meeting room.”

Jiang Yunhan didn’t give him a chance to retort, finished speaking, and turned to leave.

Qin Mu paused for a moment, and also raised his foot to follow.

The two entered the meeting room one after another, and Jiang Yunhan locked the door.

Qin Mu: “……”

He picked a seat and sat down, propping his face up and smilingly watching his actions, teasingly saying: “Xiao Han, this is still the company, it’ll make a bad impression.”

Jiang Yunhan: “……”

He ignored Qin Mu’s teasing, sat directly opposite Qin Mu, raised his eyes and looked straight at him, slowly furrowing his brows.

He felt that Qin Mu had been quite strange lately.

Although he still acted frivolously, the emotions in his eyes were clearly indifferent.

As if he didn’t care about anything.

He slightly tilted his head, looking at Qin Mu, and asked his first question: “Do you still like me?”

Qin Mu’s smile froze for an instant.

Jiang Yunhan didn’t wait for his reply and continued on his own.

“You don’t like me anymore.” He said with utmost certainty.

At the moment he asked, the emotions in Qin Mu’s eyes were cold and numb, even mixed with a faint hint of annoyance.

Jiang Yunhan stared unblinkingly at Qin Mu and threw out the next question:

“Then do you like Xiao Shen?”

The smile on Qin Mu’s lips completely turned cold.

He leaned back against the chair, his tone impatient:

“What does that have to do with you?”

Jiang Yunhan looked at his movements and expression and slowly furrowed his brows in confusion.

“I can’t tell.”

“What?”

“I can’t tell if you truly like Xiao Shen or not.”

Jiang Yunhan’s tone was low, his expression slightly frustrated.

He said: “Qin Mu, I don’t understand you. How genuine is your affection?”

Qin Mu’s gaze fell on Jiang Yunhan’s face.

That small face again revealed the same emotion.

Yet it was different.

When Jian Yunshen made such an expression, he would only feel that Jian Yunshen was probably up to mischief again, making such an expression to make him soften.

Qin Mu’s heart wasn’t that easily softened, but when facing Jian Yunshen, he always showed a bit more indulgence.

Jian Yunshen’s mischief was just mischief; as long as he had the ability to clean up the mess, it was fine.

He didn’t know if such emotions could be called liking or love.

Affection is a difficult proposition to solve.

Some people spend their entire lives seeking the true answer.

What is affection?

It is dedication, it is sacrifice, it is self-destructive protectiveness.

Such a great thing seemed to have little to do with him.

He wouldn’t like, and even less understood love; the love around him was all too grand and bleak.

It had lost its reference value.

But even today, looking at those extremely similar eyes, he still subconsciously didn’t want to say.

“I don’t like you.”
