Chapter 67#

“Qin Mu, could you care about me a little more, please?”#

His beautiful peach blossom eyes held not a trace of a smile at this moment, colder than the snow on the ground.

Jian Yunchen’s pupils contracted. His startled heart beat even more intensely because of the person who unexpectedly appeared at this moment.

He stammered, “You… weren’t you away on a business trip?”

Qin Mu was wearing a black overcoat and a thick grey scarf. He lifted his hand, his fingertips circling a few times, then removed the scarf and wrapped it around Jian Yunchen’s neck.

The tightly knitted scarf still carried lingering body heat. Jian Yunchen’s delicate chin sank into it. He lowered his head to sniff, and a warm scent instantly enveloped him.

Ah, it was Qin Mu’s scent.

He lightly held the scarf and looked at Qin Mu with a smiling gaze.

Qin Mu’s hand, which was adjusting the scarf for him, paused. Looking at Jian Yunchen’s soft eyes at this moment, he actually felt an urge to kiss him.

Jian Yunchen had received his message a few days ago, saying he would be away on a business trip to a neighboring city for a few days. Calculating the dates, his flight should have been tomorrow afternoon. Seeing him early, Jian Yunchen only then realized how terrifying longing could be.

When he hadn’t seen him, he longed, but could still endure it.

Now that he saw him, he longed even more, and couldn’t bear it.

“Did you specially come to find me?”

His words held a trace of unobjectionable smugness. Qin Mu chuckled, letting out a soft “Mm.”

Jian Yunchen also smiled, stepping closer. He clutched Qin Mu’s coat and whispered to him:

“Qin Mu…”

“I want to kiss you.”

The smile in Qin Mu’s eyes deepened. He gently pinched Jian Yunchen’s cool cheek, his gaze sweeping over the pink envelope dropped on the ground. Jian Yunchen tilted his head up to approach, but Qin Mu turned his head to evade. The man’s deep voice sounded in Jian Yunchen’s ear, instantly making a large part of Jian Yunchen’s spine tingle:

“Kiss when we get home?”

Jian Yunchen, with reddened earlobes, nodded.

Qin Mu released him and picked up the letter from the ground.

This letter stood between them. Jian Yunchen’s eyes widened, and he hurriedly opened his mouth, wanting to explain.

He opened his mouth, then closed it again.

Explain what? He and Wen Jing truly had nothing going on.

If he said so, would Qin Mu believe him?

Besides, would Qin Mu even care?

Would he care… if someone liked him?

Qin Mu handed the letter over, saying softly, “Keep it safe.”

Jian Yunchen took it blankly, his heart feeling sour and watery. He didn’t understand how he could be so conflicted, both hoping Qin Mu would trust him, knowing he couldn’t have anything with anyone else, and yet not wanting Qin Mu to be so nonchalant, actually returning the letter to him.

He clutched the letter paper, sulking silently at himself.

Shoulder to shoulder, they walked slowly forward. Qin Mu turned his head to look at Jian Yunchen’s drooping head, listless and slumped, completely lacking the spirited swagger he had just shown.

Suddenly, he took Jian Yunchen’s hand. One hand was cold, the other warm, alternating. The cold hand was slowly warmed by his, their fingers tightly intertwined.

Jian Yunchen’s long eyelashes trembled. The surroundings were excessively quiet, the usual noise softly absorbed into the gaps between snowflakes, making his heartbeat unusually clear.

It wasn’t far from Qin Mu’s apartment. During this time, while Qin Mu was away, Jian Yunchen had quietly gone to stay for a few nights. Huddled in Qin Mu’s apartment, he had slept better those nights than ever before.

They walked forward, one step deep, one step shallow, their hands interlocked, gently swayed by Jian Yunchen.

“Qin Mu.” Jian Yunchen stepped on the accumulated snow and softly called his name.

Qin Mu steadily held a black umbrella, leading him forward. He lowered his gaze to him and softly hummed “Mm.”

Jian Yunchen yawned. The alcohol’s effects had mostly dissipated in the cold wind, but his body was still cold, and his stomach began to feel hungry.

“I want to eat the noodles you cook.”

Few people got to taste Chef Qin’s cooking; Jian Yunchen was his most appreciative customer.

He nodded with a smile.

Jian Yunchen happily looked up, gazing at him with those bright black eyes. His gaze was somewhat fervent, and Qin Mu’s heart was suddenly scorched by the affection contained within his eyes.

The next instant, the black umbrella above them pressed down heavily.

Under the umbrella, their figures overlapped for a few seconds.

Soft snow drifted down from the sky. On the road, sparse pedestrians paid no attention to this scene.

Snow slowly settled on the black overcoat. The black umbrella firmly covered Jian Yunchen, and only Qin Mu could see the moistness in Jian Yunchen’s eyes after being kissed comfortably.

He reached out, cupping his face and gently rubbing his lips.

His fingertips pressed harder and harder.

How could he….

How could he be so obedient?

Their figures overlapped again, this time pausing for a longer duration.

Jian Yunchen was completely softened by the kisses. He tugged at Qin Mu’s coat, tilting his head back to receive them. The intoxication that hadn’t fully surfaced earlier now surged forth, his mind feeling light and airy, even his limbs beginning to lose control.

The black umbrella slowly lowered. Qin Mu looked at the moistness in his eyes, his heart beating with urgency and heaviness. Overwhelming emotions were suppressed. He cupped Jian Yunchen’s face and slowly exhaled a warm breath.

White mist dispersed. Jian Yunchen’s earlobes were tinged red. He pursed his slightly wet lips.

Suddenly, he embraced Qin Mu, resting his chin against Qin Mu’s slightly cool neck and gently nuzzling him.

“Qin Mu, could you care about me a little more, please?”

Qin Mu leaned his forehead against Jian Yunchen’s hair, then turned his head to kiss his earlobe.

Care even more…?

Qin Mu thought helplessly.

He had driven back all night.

Who knew he’d return only to stumble upon this scene of youthful, innocent confession?

He rubbed the slightly protruding bone at the back of Jian Yunchen’s neck and helplessly agreed:

“Okay…”

Qin Mu’s cooking wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t great.

Fortunately, he had Jian Yunchen as an appreciative customer.

After eating, he still looked at Qin Mu with lingering desire.

After they had washed up, they lay together on the bed.

Jian Yunchen, wearing well-fitting pajamas, snuggled in Qin Mu’s arms. He seemed to have been waiting for a long time.

He looked at Qin Mu eagerly.

Qin Mu smiled, cupped his face, and lowered his head to gently touch his soft lips.

His moist lips carried a hint of the toothpaste’s coolness. Qin Mu thought as he kissed.

Jian Yunchen must have secretly used that peach-flavored toothpaste.

Otherwise, how could it be so sweet?

The next day, both of them woke up very late.

Jian Yunchen officially started his vacation today. He wasn’t in a hurry to go to the company yet. After leisurely waking up, he ran to the living room to find Qin Mu.

Qin Mu had a bit of a cleanliness obsession. Having not been back for several days, the first thing he did upon returning was to tidy up the house.

It wasn’t actually messy, just had a few more traces of daily life.

The originally cold, model home had, at some point, acquired a few books, a few pens, a blanket draped over the sofa, a cushion on the floor, Jian Yunchen’s coat on the sofa, and some fresh vegetables in the kitchen.

Qin Mu found it hard to imagine when Jian Yunchen had so quietly taken root and settled down.

Jian Yunchen ran around the house several times, rummaged through the wardrobe repeatedly, messing up what Qin Mu had just tidied. Qin Mu grabbed the back of Jian Yunchen’s neck and pulled him over, “What are you looking for now?”

Jian Yunchen leaned against his chest, looking up at him, his brows slightly furrowed: “Qin Mu, did you see that letter?”

“What?”

“That one, the letter from last night, I haven’t had a chance to read it yet.”

Qin Mu blinked, his expression unchanged: “Didn’t see it. Did you accidentally lose it somewhere?”

“How could that be…” Jian Yunchen frowned. He hadn’t yet thought of a way to deal with that letter, but it shouldn’t have been left forgotten in some corner.

Qin Mu raised an eyebrow: “Is it important?”

Jian Yunchen pondered for a few seconds: “That’s not the point. Only after I read it will I know how to refuse.”

Qin Mu smiled, a joyful amusement evident in his raised eyebrows.

“I’ll help you look for it.”
