Chapter 63#

From behind, it looked like they were kissing.#

“She just called you a pervert.”

Qin Mu somewhat couldn’t resist pinching the soft flesh on his cheek, leaning closer, his breath fanning Jian Yunchen’s ear:

“Do you want me to deal with her for you?”

“Hmph.” Jian Yunchen brushed away his mischievous hand, letting out a light snort, “He was scolding ‘Jiang Yunhan’, not ‘Jian Yunchen’. Why should I go trouble her?”

He looked up at him, his tone ominous: “What, Young Master Qin, feeling sorry for her? Afraid I’ll trouble your sweetheart?”

Qin Mu lightly “tsk-ed,” “Where did a sweetheart come from?”

“No sweetheart in sight, only a fervent pursuer. Who doesn’t know that I ’love you but can’t have you’?”

Jian Yunchen gave him a cold glance. There were all sorts of rumors circulating outside; some said Jian Yunchen rose to power as a substitute, others said Qin Mu remained a playboy, but the most widely spread version was that Qin Mu loved Jiang Yunhan but couldn’t have her, so he settled for being with Jian Yunchen.

This rumor wasn’t entirely wrong.

The only mistake was that Qin Mu wasn’t with him at all.

Jian Yunchen’s heart was churning with bitterness, sometimes a painful wrench, sometimes a sour ache, and it all boiled down to Qin Mu’s antics.

He slapped away Qin Mu’s hand, his expression suddenly changing:

“Shut up!”

After much deliberation, Jian Yunchen ignited himself with anger. He abruptly turned hostile, spun around, and left.

Many people around were looking in Qin Mu’s direction.

Qin Mu completely disregarded the curious gazes of the crowd. He looked at Jian Yunchen’s angry back and curved his lips into a smile.

He thought to himself: “I overdid it…”

With one hand in his pocket, he lifted his foot and followed.

Jian Yunchen walked very quickly, partly to shake off Qin Mu behind him; he didn’t want to see him at all right now.

Secondly, boarding this cruise ship tonight, besides exchanging identities with Jiang Yunhan, there was an even more important matter.

He needed to connect with “General Manager Shan.” The Jiang family started in the medical field, so they held a unique advantage for this project. In A-city, no company possessed a larger database than “Jiang Ming.”

But the problem was that “Jiang Ming” only had a database; it had no involvement in the AI intelligence sector. However, the project, medical, and AI were inseparable, and mature robot technology was also needed. Each aspect was indispensable.

No single company could tackle this project all at once.

This was also why the project had been at a standstill.

Everyone present today had a common goal. Nowadays, making money was secondary; the more important thing was to participate in this project.

Gaining government approval could provide convenience in many aspects.

As Jian Yunchen turned the corner, he ran into Ji Weiyi, who had just come down from upstairs.

He sidestepped to block Jian Yunchen’s path, looking at him with a smiling face that inexplicably seemed a bit familiar.

“Where are you going, Young Master?”

Jian Yunchen’s face darkened. This frivolous tone, this hooligan-like demeanor.

He stiffly replied: “Manager Ji. I…”

“I know who you are and I know your purpose.” Ji Weiyi interrupted, “Your company has its advantages, but also its disadvantages. I have a better choice.”

Jian Yunchen’s heart tightened. Seeing Ji Weiyi start to walk forward, he immediately followed closely: “Manager Ji, I believe both you and General Manager Shan highly value this project collaboration opportunity. This is the government’s first time extending an olive branch to us. General Manager Shan has taken on such a huge responsibility, so the pressure must be immense. Instead of settling, why not aim for the best in one go?”

“Instead of repeatedly revising and restarting after failure, it’s better to achieve perfection in one go.”

“‘Jiang Ming’s’ data can support your operations, help you build models, and it’s the most crucial link for the advancement of all subsequent projects.”

Ji Weiyi’s steps paused slightly. He turned his head to look, his expression a half-smile, full of meaning: “Young Master, you’re quite eloquent, what’s your name…”

“Jiang Yunhan?”

Jian Yunchen’s gaze paused slightly, then he answered firmly:

“I am Jian Yunchen.”

“Oh……” Ji Weiyi drawled teasingly, “An identity-swapping game, quite interesting.”

The deck was deserted. Ji Weiyi stood with his back to the light, his expression unclear. Wave after wave crashed against the ship’s planking. Ji Weiyi picked up a thin card between two fingers; it reflected a white light in the dark night.

He gently slid the room card into the pocket of Jian Yunchen’s jacket.

“You can come to this room and tell him slowly, General Manager Shan will listen.”

General Manager Shan!

Jian Yunchen’s heart jolted, his eyes widened, blood instantly rushed away from his limbs, and he felt cold to the bone in an instant.

What did this mean?

General Manager Shan was interested in him?

Why him?

He subconsciously took a step back, but his shoulder blades pressed against a solid chest.

He abruptly turned his head.

Before his consciousness could register resistance, Qin Mu’s arm had already wrapped around Jian Yunchen’s waist.

“So lively? Why didn’t you call me?”

The man’s hot breath brushed past his ear, and Jian Yunchen shivered instinctively. The wind on the deck at night was fierce and cold, yet Qin Mu’s embrace behind him was so steady that it blocked all the wind. Jian Yunchen’s body gradually began to warm up. He froze, looking up at Qin Mu’s sharp chin.

A rarely truly revealed hostility was in Qin Mu’s eyes, his voice as cold as ice: “You’d better give me an explanation.”

The room card that had fallen out of Jian Yunchen’s pocket lay quietly on the deck.

Everyone’s room numbers were already registered when they boarded, and 203 opened.

It was Qin Mu’s room.

Ji Weiyi picked up the room card, patted off the dust, as if he had just noticed it.

With an “Oops,” he slipped the card into Qin Mu’s palm.

“My apologies, Young Mr. Qin, I grabbed the wrong one. This is actually your room card. How did I accidentally give it to the young master just now? My mistake, it won’t happen again next time.”

“The room card, I’ve returned it to its owner. You and the young master decide for yourselves who goes to this room tonight.”

After saying that, he didn’t wait for Qin Mu and Jian Yunchen’s reactions, turning around and leaving.

Mainly because after being stared at by the boss with what felt like murderous eyes, staying any longer would be foolish.

Qin Mu released his hand, and Jian Yunchen suddenly left the warm embrace, his heart still pounding. The feeling of being coveted by some inexplicable person was utterly awful, and he unconsciously began to tremble faintly all over.

Qin Mu glanced at the card, and only after confirming the room number was indeed 203, did he slowly retract his chilling aura, casually pocketing the room card.

He turned his head and saw Jian Yunchen pale, his body trembling uncontrollably.

He slightly furrowed his brow, embracing him and asking softly, “Are you cold?”

When Jian Yunchen leaned into his embrace, that awful feeling slowly receded. He nodded slightly.

“Then let’s go inside.”

Jian Yunchen refused to move. Since the last time they parted, something between them seemed to have changed, yet also seemed unchanged. He couldn’t decipher Qin Mu’s attitude, nor could he bring himself to ask.

It was just that in such tender moments, he always couldn’t help but lose himself for a few more seconds.

He clutched Qin Mu’s jacket hem, refusing to let go, like a petulant child, expressing his wishes only through action.

Qin Mu didn’t speak; the two embraced quietly.

Faint footsteps sounded. Jian Yunchen looked up, and a figure flashed past.

He was too familiar with that figure; with just one glance, he recognized it as Jiang Yunhan.

As the footsteps slowly approached, Jian Yunchen, for reasons unknown to himself,

suddenly raised his hand to Qin Mu’s neck, leaned forward, and tilted his head up. In the moonlight, their lips were infinitely close.

From behind, it looked like they were kissing.
