Chapter 26#

How could you do such a thing to Yunchen!#

Qin Zheng had been very busy lately.

Not long ago, a new company emerged from nowhere. By relying on entertainment clubs, it quickly established a firm foothold in the market. The Qin Corporation’s share in the entertainment sector was small, and with just one oversight, they were pushed out of the market by this newcomer.

Originally, such a minor matter wouldn’t have been enough to alarm Qin Zheng, but the problem was that two projects he personally handled had both been snatched away by the opponent.

The projects weren’t large and were insignificant to the Qin Corporation, but the fact that they were taken directly from Qin Zheng’s hands made him increasingly frustrated.

On his desk lay information regarding the rival company. It didn’t belong to any of the old power factions in the city; it had appeared out of thin air. With lightning speed and extremely keen business intuition, it had quickly secured its place in the business world.

As an opponent, they struck fast and hard, without the slightest hesitation or giving anyone time to react or negotiate. Yet, in terms of cooperation, they were thorough, always offering terms that were impossible to refuse.

These were some of the evaluations Qin Zheng had gathered about “Zhaohui” and its CEO.

People knew very little about this mysterious CEO of “Zhaohui,” only that he was a very young man, handsome, refined, and polite, with the surname Shan.

Qin Zheng stared at the information of this mysterious CEO, lost in thought.

For some reason, there was a sense of unease in his heart, as if things were about to spiral out of control.

He rubbed the corners of his eyes and let out a soft sigh.

He had been so busy with work that he hadn’t seen Jiang Yunhan for a while. The plan with Tang Rong was also nearing its final stages; at this time, there could be no issues between him and Jiang Yunhan.

It was just a few small projects being snatched; he really shouldn’t take it too much to heart.

What was more important now should be Qin Mu.

Qin Zheng dialed the internal line and instructed his assistant in a low voice: “Investigate the person behind ‘Zhaohui’ thoroughly. It’s best to let them know I’m looking into them, to prompt them to take the initiative to meet with me.”

The assistant gave a soft “okay.”

Qin Zheng stood up, buttoned his suit jacket, and strode out.

Intending to leave early to pick up Jiang Yunhan from class, Qin Zheng happened to encounter Qin Mu in the same elevator.

Qin Mu was leaning against the wall scrolling through his phone. He looked up, glanced at him, and then a casual smile curled his lips: “Oh, leaving early?”

Qin Zheng’s expression darkened. He didn’t respond and walked in.

As the elevator doors slowly closed, the more Qin Zheng wanted to ignore him, the more Qin Mu insisted on engaging.

A voice mixed with amusement rang out from behind: “Deputy Manager Qin, where are you headed?”

“None of your business.”

“How is it none of your business? President Qin is always clamoring for me to learn from you. Does the old man know you leave early every day?”

Qin Zheng turned his head and gave him a cold glance before slowly turning back: “I will tell Father.”

“……”

Forget it; when it came to being disgusting, Qin Mu felt that ten of himself wouldn’t be a match for Qin Zheng.

He gave a sarcastic smile but didn’t object to the other’s choice of address.

As they neared the first floor, Qin Zheng spoke abruptly: “Is Wen Xing useful?”

Qin Mu’s brows twitched slightly: “He’s alright. Thank you for your generosity, Deputy Manager Qin.”

Qin Zheng, who had intended to annoy Qin Mu: “…”

He gritted his teeth, barely restraining himself from looking back. His voice remained steady, though the veins on his neck slightly bulged: “You’re welcome. As long as you find him easy to use. He’s just someone I didn’t want anymore.”

The elevator door gave a soft “ding.”

The doors opened slowly. As if unable to tolerate being in the same space as Qin Mu for a second longer, Qin Zheng walked out quickly.

Qin Mu walked to the lobby, picked up a coffee delivery, and turned back to his office.

After pushing the door open, he handed over a cup of coffee. Sitting opposite him was the very person Qin Zheng was hurrying out to find: Jiang Yunhan.

In truth, Qin Mu had already guessed the entirety of Qin Zheng’s plan three days ago, the night Jian Yunchen told him.

It was nothing more than using photos of Jian Yunchen looking for him at the club and them entering and leaving together as evidence. Over the past few days, Qin Mu had followed the trail and discovered that Tang Qi had been very close to an entertainment magazine recently. He hadn’t expected that one day he would receive celebrity treatment and be secretly photographed by paparazzi.

However, after his investigation, he found that he was just collateral damage. It was the person Jiang Sheng had sent to monitor Jian Yunchen who, out of greed, had sold a backup of the photos.

Greedy people are the easiest to manipulate; as long as there is money, if they can sell a first copy, they can sell a second.

What was in Qin Mu’s bag was that second copy.

He handed the documents over with a smile.

Jiang Yunhan blinked at him in confusion, took them, and slowly flipped through. The further he read, the worse his expression became.

Qin Mu admired the other’s ugly expression without any burden, slowly sipping his coffee.

Once there was “evidence” of Qin Mu keeping Jian Yunchen, the next step would be to push Qin Mu to the forefront, using rumors to fabricate a “coercion” scenario. The stock market would inevitably fluctuate, and Qin Yan-chen’s accountability would follow.

Qin Zheng would only need to jump out at this moment and announce his relationship with Jiang Yunhan. By taking the opportunity to win over the Jiang family and using it to cover up the scandal, the stock price would stabilize, and all the credit would go to Qin Zheng.

It was quite flexible. If it weren’t being stepped on his head, he would actually be quite happy to watch such a good show.

Jiang Yunhan had reached the end of the photos. His face was pale. After taking several moments to calm his breathing, he still couldn’t help but slam the photos onto the table. The color photos fluttered to the ground, many of them showing the two appearing intimately entangled due to the camera angles.

The anger in Jiang Yunhan’s eyes was clearly visible, his voice rising involuntarily: “How could you do such a thing to Yunchen!”

Qin Mu’s expression shifted slightly. In an instant, he put on a rather hurt look: “Xiao Han, you don’t believe me either?”

“Don’t you know my feelings for you? If I really had that intention, I shouldn’t have interfered in the matters between you and Jian Yunchen at all. Could it be that I’m waiting for him to reclaim his identity just to seek revenge on me?”

This display of appealing to emotion and reason successfully caused Jiang Yunhan’s anger to subside slightly, though his face remained pale. He clenched his fists, trying his best to stay calm: “Why?”

He closed his eyes, wanting to clarify everything: “Why are there these photos? What exactly is your relationship with Yunchen? You clearly said before that there was nothing…”

Qin Mu sighed, his tone steady: “Jian Yunchen knew about his identity a long time ago. He came to beg me, hoping I could help him.”

“Beg you?” Jiang Yunhan frowned. “Why would he beg you? Why couldn’t he come to me…”

“Xiao Han.” Qin Mu smiled at him. “All of your movements are under Jiang Sheng’s surveillance, including his. Do you think whether Jian Yunchen can return to the Jiang family can be accomplished just by a word from you?”
