Chapter 141#
“Just now, Jian Jinbao was arrested and imprisoned.”#
By the time a reply was received, it was already nearly 10 PM. The other side only sent a short sentence:
“We’ll talk tomorrow.”
And that was the end of it.
Ji Weiyi raised an eyebrow and stared at it for a long while, beginning to feel puzzled. Was this still his workaholic “President Shan”?
In the dim room, only a faint, weak light from the bathroom remained. Qin Mu was shirtless, holding Jian Yunchen, who was wearing Qin Mu’s shirt, in his arms.
Jian Yunchen’s eyes were half-closed, his breathing steady and long.
Qin Mu replied to the message and tossed the phone aside without a second thought. Through the blurred light, he looked down at the way the person in his arms was sleeping peacefully.
With his eyes closed, Jian Yunchen looked very well-behaved. His eyelashes hung quietly, and his swollen lips blurred his lip line. The hazy lamplight cast a layer of silvery-white glow over his profile, like a painting dampened by mist. Qin Mu’s fingertips gently slid across his brow and eyes, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
The mischievous fingers disturbed Jian Yunchen’s sleep. He shrank further into Qin Mu’s embrace, his voice still a bit hoarse when he spoke: “Why aren’t you sleeping?”
He paused, suddenly opening his eyes in tension, “The wound didn’t reopen, did it? I told you just now not to be so—”
Qin Mu covered his mouth and looked down into his eyes: “Did it feel good?”
Jian Yunchen blinked gently, his ears turning red as he nodded.
Qin Mu curled his lips slightly: “Was I lasting?”
Exasperated by the question, Jian Yunchen pulled Qin Mu’s hand away and turned his head, ignoring him.
Qin Mu laughed deeply.
He embraced him from behind, leaning close to his ear, and whispered: “I’ll coax you. Weren’t you and Jiang Yunhan wondering how to get Jian Jinbao to open his mouth? I’ve thought of a way.”
Jian Yunchen turned sideways to look at him, the pleasant surprise in his eyes impossible to hide: “Really?”
“Of course it’s true.” Qin Mu raised an eyebrow. “And it’s very simple.”
Jian Yunchen asked impatiently: “What is it?”
A playful glint flickered in Qin Mu’s eyes. He leaned down close to Jian Yunchen’s ear and whispered softly.
Jian Yunchen listened quietly. After a long time, he raised his eyes, somewhat hesitant: “Will this… really work?”
Qin Mu lowered his head and kissed the tip of his nose. “Trust me…”
Naturally, Jian Yunchen trusted Qin Mu’s abilities immensely. He looked up at Qin Mu; all his fatigue had been swept away because of the person before him. His heart felt heavy, overflowing with emotions.
Suddenly, quite out of place, he thought of Liu Yi.
He remembered the woman’s satisfied smile when talking about her daughter; even the most ordinary woman seemed to be shrouded in an invisible light.
He pursed his lips and looked into Qin Mu’s eyes. The question buried deep in his heart blurted out: “Qin Mu, do you ever want children?”
Qin Mu paused upon hearing this, then reached out his hand to stroke Jian Yunchen’s stomach.
The waistline had instinctively tightened when first touched, but the thin layer of muscle on the surface became soft once relaxed. His waist was slender, thin, supple yet strong. He looked down, gently rubbing Jian Yunchen’s lower abdomen, then suddenly looked up and asked curiously: “Can you bear them for me?”
Jian Yunchen froze, his entire body turning red. He covered Qin Mu’s mouth and gave him a fierce glare: “Can you go one day without being a flirt?!”
Qin Mu laughed softly. He pulled Jian Yunchen into his arms and closed his eyes. The room became quiet, leaving only the sounds of their heartbeats echoing, gradually falling into sync.
“I only want you. Others, children—none of it is important.”
“I told you, you are the most special one to me.”
Qin Mu’s voice flowed gently through the room, allowing Jian Yunchen’s heart to slowly settle.
“When I was young, I once picked up a very beautiful shell. At that time, I felt that what I liked most was the shell in my hand.”
“I couldn’t be sure if there would be a shell more beautiful than the one in my hand on the beach.”
“But I could simply never go to the beach again.”
“Jian Yunchen.” Qin Mu sighed softly. “To me, you are that most beautiful, most beloved ‘shell.’ You are mine, and that’s enough. No matter how beautiful other shells are, they have nothing to do with me, because only you are mine.”
Jian Yunchen blinked slowly, gradually processing Qin Mu’s words in his heart.
He felt that Qin Mu was truly playing foul.
Always beneath that glib tongue, he would throw out such breathtaking professions of love.
“Do you think… I’m very beautiful?”
Qin Mu laughed, leaning down to capture his lips. In the gaps between kisses, he whispered:
“Beautiful. My little ‘shell’ is the most beautiful.”
When the sunlight spilled through the warm yellow curtains onto the two people embracing, Jian Yunchen’s thin eyelids flickered. He shrank into Qin Mu’s arms, mumbling softly: “It’s so bright… Qin Mu…”
Qin Mu slowly opened his eyes and used his fingers to block the stinging sunlight. He grabbed the remote nearby and pressed the button to close them. The curtains slid shut, and Jian Yunchen’s furrowed brows gradually relaxed.
He yawned and got up to go to the bathroom. His loose waistband faintly revealed his strong abdomen and firm mermaid lines. The morning light leaked through the gap in the curtains, plating a thin layer of gold over him.
After washing up, Qin Mu returned to the bed, and Jian Yunchen rolled over to press against him again.
Opening his bleary eyes, he complained softly: “As soon as you leave, I can’t sleep…”
Qin Mu held him, laughing softly: “My fault. I failed to be a good human body pillow for Young Master Jian.”
Jian Yunchen curled his lips, his fingertips poking Qin Mu’s firm abs. While secretly envious in his heart, his mouth wasn’t relenting at all: “It was just so-so. I’d give you a five out of ten.”
Qin Mu raised an eyebrow in surprise: “Not even a passing grade? Did I serve you that poorly? Then I’ll have to make up for my lack of talent with diligence. If I study more, maybe I can improve—”
A flurry of fine kisses fell incessantly upon Jian Yunchen’s neck. The soft tickling made him unable to stop himself from laughing.
As the two were playing around, a sudden, urgent knocking sounded at the door.
Frightened, Jian Yunchen instantly shrank under the covers, peering out with only his round eyes. He looked at Qin Mu: “Who is it this early?”
Qin Mu casually ruffled his hair, stood up, grabbed the discarded coat to throw over himself—covering the ambiguous marks on his body—and went to open the door.
Standing outside was Jiang Yunhan. He could not hide the anxiety on his face; his eyes were bloodshot, and his lips were pale. The moment the door opened, he pushed his way into the room.
Inside, Jian Yunchen had finished putting on his pants. When he looked up, he saw Jiang Yunhan’s face before him.
Before he even had a chance to ask—
Jiang Yunhan spoke urgently: “Xiao Chen, something happened.”
Jian Yunchen’s gaze froze, landing on that frantic face. His heart began to race for some unknown reason.
“Liu Yi,” Jiang Yunhan took a slight breath, his voice trembling as he continued, “After Liu Yi went back yesterday, Jian Jinbao suspected her of having an affair. He believed that Jian Dan wasn’t his, and he tried to throw the baby to his death.”
Jian Yunchen’s breath hitched, his eyes trembling slightly.
“To protect the child, Liu Yi was beaten to death.”
“Just now, Jian Jinbao was arrested and imprisoned.”
