Chapter 7#
Kill That Emperor (7)#
At these words, Murong Xiu was instantly stunned with horror.
He stared in terror at the Regent, as if trying to discern whether he was joking.
Shen Jue also froze for a moment. In that instant, he forgot to hide his emotions, staring blankly at the Regent. Of the three, the Regent was the most composed. A faint smile hung on his lips as he looked at Shen Jue.
Fortunately, Shen Jue only spaced out briefly. Coming back to his senses, he took a light breath. Before he could react further, the Regent stood up and swept Murong Xiu into his arms, lifting him by the waist. He carried the man straight toward the inner hall, ignoring Murong Xiu’s struggles. As he walked in, he didn’t forget to order Shen Jue, “Come in.”
Murong Xiu’s face instantly turned pale. From the cradle of the Regent’s arm, he looked at Shen Jue. His eyes held murderous intent, fury, and an indescribable shame. Just a few days ago, he had accidentally bullied Shen Jue, and now he was being humiliated in front of the very same person.
But he was the reigning Son of Heaven.
Yet, where in the world was there such a Son of Heaven?
When Murong Xiu saw Shen Jue get up, his gaze grew even sharper. If he were disgraced tonight… he would definitely kill Shen Jue to silence him. Murong Xiu’s body trembled uncontrollably. He gritted his teeth, desperately suppressing the grief and rage within him.
The Regent glanced at the beauty in his arms, his smile deepening. He walked slowly into the inner hall and pressed the beauty onto the dragon bed.
Was there anything more exhilarating than pinning a monarch to the bed?
But even at this moment, the Regent didn’t forget the gray rat lurking outside.
He turned his head and, seeing that the man hadn’t entered, his eyes turned cold. Meanwhile, Murong Xiu, pinned to the bed, grew even more panicked and struggled harder. Noticing this, the Regent simply removed Murong Xiu’s belt and bound his hands to the bedpost.
Bound like that, Murong Xiu’s eyes reddened.
Seeing this, the Regent patted Murong Xiu’s face soothingly, “Be good. I’ll be right back.”
Now he had to go catch that reckless gray rat and bring him in.
When the Regent walked out of the inner hall, he saw Shen Jue tidying up the scattered memorials and tea cups. He raised an eyebrow. “What are you doing?”
Shen Jue neatly arranged the items before looking at the Regent. “This servant is cleaning up the mess.”
The Regent narrowed his eyes. This gray rat was certainly bold. Even Murong Xiu sometimes dared not speak to him like this. And here was Shen Jue, a mere servant, not only disobeying his orders but also looking at him with such eyes and speaking in such a tone.
“And now you’re done cleaning up?” Because he felt the man wouldn’t live much longer, the Regent’s tone was remarkably calm.
Shen Jue nodded.
“Then go inside.” The Regent turned first, but after taking two steps, he paused to check if Shen Jue was following.
This time, Shen Jue obediently followed.
When Murong Xiu, bound to the dragon bed, saw the Regent and Shen Jue entering one after the other, his tied hands clenched into fists. Shen Jue noticed Murong Xiu was tied up and silently considered what to do next. He couldn’t let the Regent touch Murong Xiu—at least not tonight. If he didn’t need Murong Xiu to fall in love with him, Shen Jue would have been happy to watch this absurd scene unfold.
In Shen Jue’s mind, both the coercive Regent and the heartless Murong Xiu were birds of a feather—rogues of the same ilk.
It would be a good thing if they were together.
Unfortunately, he had to separate them.
The Regent stood by the bed and said amiably to Shen Jue, “Usually, you help His Majesty disrobe, right? Then tonight, you’ll do it too.”
At that, Murong Xiu glared at the Regent, his voice squeezed through clenched teeth, “Ni Xinyan, I will definitely kill you.”
Ni Xinyan was the Regent’s name, but besides Murong Xiu, no one in the world dared to call him by it.
The Regent smiled. “Fine, as long as you can kill me. Or…” He paused, lowering his voice, “How about first killing me in bed?”
Hearing this, Shen Jue couldn’t help but blink. So it wasn’t just him who was perverted.
Murong Xiu was so enraged by the Regent’s words that his face flushed red, and he couldn’t utter a word.
The Regent then glanced sideways at Shen Jue, signaling him to disrobe Murong Xiu.
Shen Jue lowered his head and silently stepped forward.
Murong Xiu’s lips trembled. “Shen Jue, how… how dare you!”
Murong Xiu had never felt such humiliation as he did today. He hated it. He hated it so much. He even wished he had been among those princes who died back then. Watching Shen Jue approach, he couldn’t help but laugh, though tears mingled with his laughter. The young man before him, seeing the tears in his eyes, pressed his lips together and said, very softly, “Your Majesty, you are the Son of Heaven.”
As he spoke, he reversed his hand, drew a dagger from his sleeve, and stabbed it toward the Regent behind him.
The Regent had practiced martial arts since childhood; how could he be ambushed by a eunuch who knew no martial arts? A flicker of mockery passed through his phoenix eyes. He kicked the dagger out of Shen Jue’s hand with one foot, then followed with a second kick that sent Shen Jue flying.
The second kick was infused with inner force. Shen Jue was launched into the air, crashing to the ground and spitting out a large mouthful of blood.
The Regent flicked his robe and looked coldly at the bleeding gray rat.
“Unexpectedly, a loyal servant,” he said coldly.
Shen Jue raised a hand to press against his chest. The pain numbed his brain. He bit his tongue, shook his body, and stood up. The Regent was surprised to see Shen Jue could still stand. When the man approached, he kicked again—this time aimed at the chest.
Shen Jue was sent flying once more.
Several ribs seemed to be broken. This time, he couldn’t get up; he could only crawl forward.
His palms and collar were covered in blood.
As he crawled, he left a long trail of bloodstains.
Murong Xiu stared at the scene in shock. When Shen Jue crawled over again, he finally couldn’t hold back and shouted, “Shen Jue, are you crazy? Get out!”
Hearing this, Shen Jue slowly lifted his head. The lower half of his face was smeared with blood. Murong Xiu didn’t know how much blood a person had, but he felt the red before him was too dazzling.
“Your Majesty… is the Son… of Heaven. This servant is the one who… attends to the Son of Heaven.” Shen Jue’s voice was very weak, his speech slow. Every word he uttered was accompanied by blood spilling from his lips. Seeing this, Murong Xiu struggled wildly, his wrists chafed red. “Get out! Get out! Shen Jue!”
The Regent’s gaze was also fixed on Shen Jue. Unlike Murong Xiu, he only found the red on Shen Jue’s body exceedingly beautiful. He couldn’t help but crouch down and grab Shen Jue’s throat. The youth’s neck was very thin, as if a little force would snap it.
Shen Jue looked up at the Regent, then used the last of his strength to lunge at him. He tackled the Regent to the ground and bit down on his neck, sinking his teeth in with all his might. He bit down fiercely, not knowing if the blood in his mouth was his own or the other’s.
Feeling the pain at his neck, the Regent laughed.
Interesting. Truly interesting.
When the youth had lunged at him, he could have directly twisted his neck off. But he was curious to see just how far this gray rat could go, to what extent he could attack a stone with an egg.
He didn’t expect this grimy gray rat to dare bite him.
The Regent raised his hand and grabbed Shen Jue’s hair. Shen Jue kept biting him. The Regent’s hand paused for a moment at the back of Shen Jue’s head. Although his face wasn’t much to look at, his hair was quite soft. They say people with soft hair have soft temperaments, but this gray rat’s disposition was truly stubborn.
At this thought, he burst into loud laughter. After laughing, he finally tore Shen Jue off his body.
He used force, and the pull distorted Shen Jue’s face. With half his face covered in blood, the whole person looked even uglier.
But the Regent leisurely admired the ugly face before him, even using his free hand to touch the blood at the corner of Shen Jue’s lips.
Shen Jue was now dizzy from the pain. He was currently a mortal body, no longer an immortal one, and couldn’t withstand such a beating. This desperate gamble was partly to let Murong Xiu see his loyalty and to prevent Murong Xiu from killing him afterward.
However, Shen Jue had been so focused on Murong Xiu that he forgot the Regent was a sadist.
And this sadist got excited at the sight of blood.
