Chapter 50#

Kill That Gentleman (13)#

Sang Xinghe’s temples throbbed.

He felt like he was being driven mad by this lunatic Yu Ci.

He couldn’t help but think back to the scene when Yu Ci had confessed to him. Back then, Yu Ci had been wearing a very flashy pink robe, and even though he had called Sang Xinghe out to fight, he was still holding a peach blossom branch in his hand. It was already past April at that time, so Sang Xinghe had no idea where he had gotten that peach blossom.

Yu Ci launched into a long love poem right in Sang Xinghe’s face—words like “day and night,” “tossing and turning,” whatever phrase was cloying, he used it. Luckily, Sang Xinghe had traveled the Jianghu for many years and had seen his share of the world, so he very politely rejected Yu Ci and graciously declined the peach blossom Yu Ci had tried to offer him.

Who would have thought that Yu Ci, who had been all smiles a moment ago, would instantly turn his face. He threw the peach blossom to the ground, stomped it into a pulp, and ran off. The next time Sang Xinghe saw him, it was after Yu Ci had successfully ambushed him and crippled his martial arts.

His master had once said that Ten Ultimate Island was nothing short of a demon cult, filled with people who acted willfully and had twisted personalities. Sang Xinghe hadn’t taken it seriously back then, but now, having run into this madman Yu Ci, he finally understood why Ten Ultimate Island had such a notorious reputation in the Jianghu.

Sang Xinghe tried to reason with the other calmly. “Yu Ci, can you go out first? He can’t sleep with you.”

Hearing this, Yu Ci couldn’t understand. Why could that damn shorty sleep with Sang Xinghe but not with him? Besides, it wasn’t like he wanted to sleep with that shorty; he just wanted a massage.

“Why can’t he sleep with me?” Yu Ci’s thoughts always became weirder than usual when he hadn’t gotten enough sleep. “I already said I could wait. You’re not going to be at it all night, are you? The first half of the night was yours, so isn’t it fair that the second half is mine? It’s perfectly fair. That damn shorty is even eating Ten Ultimate Island’s rations. What’s wrong with letting him sleep with me for a bit? It’s not like I’m going to do that sort of thing.”

Sang Xinghe felt he couldn’t reason anymore. He was silent for a moment, then grabbed the clothes beside him and put them on as he got off the bed, blocking Yu Ci’s view of the bed. “You can’t sleep, right?”

Yu Ci nodded.

“Then I’ll keep you company and chat.” Sang Xinghe said with a wooden face. “He’s already asleep.”

Even if they had to fight, so be it.

Yu Ci glanced down at Sang Xinghe’s lower body. “You were doing that sort of thing, and he still fell asleep?”

The implication was clear—

“Your equipment’s too small, isn’t it?”

Sang Xinghe: “…”

Shen Jue, who had been hiding under the covers, stealthily poked his head out. As soon as he appeared, Yu Ci spotted him.

Yu Ci heard the sound, his ears twitching slightly, and turned his head to look at Shen Jue on the bed. “Get down.”

Sang Xinghe pressed his lips together, feeling a stifled anger in his chest. When he saw Shen Jue get off the bed, that anger finally burst out.

He grabbed Shen Jue’s wrist. “Don’t go.”

Shen Jue’s legs were already weak. In truth, he would rather be with Yu Ci right now than stay here any longer. So he forcefully broke free from Sang Xinghe’s grip and, supporting his trembling body, walked over to Yu Ci.

Seeing Shen Jue so cooperative, Yu Ci nodded with satisfaction. He turned his gaze and noticed that Sang Xinghe’s expression was really unpleasant. He rubbed his chin. It seemed his beloved was angry again. But he was always angry—whatever, he would figure out how to appease him later. The priority now was to go to sleep.

Yu Ci led Shen Jue out of Yi Water Pavilion. However, after walking a short distance, he stopped and glared at Shen Jue with displeasure.

“Walking so slow, counting ants?”

Shen Jue, holding his waist, stopped upon hearing this. Seeing that he had actually stopped, Yu Ci strode back to him. “Why did you stop?”

Shen Jue let out a soft breath and shook his head at Yu Ci.

Yu Ci frowned at him, then noticed that Shen Jue was still holding his waist, and even while standing on flat ground, his legs were trembling slightly. He immediately understood. “Can’t walk?”

Shen Jue nodded.

“Useless,” Yu Ci cursed. He looked left and right, but it was deep in the night and there were no Ten Ultimate Island disciples in sight. After thinking a moment, he turned around and crouched down slightly in front of Shen Jue. “Climb on. I’ll carry you down.”

Yi Water Pavilion was the highest point on Ten Ultimate Island. If they let this damn shorty go down at this pace, it would be dawn before they even reached Yu Ci’s residence.

As Shen Jue climbed onto Yu Ci’s back, Yu Ci suddenly caught a very sweet, cloying fragrance. It seemed to burrow into his bones, impossible to ignore. His body stiffened involuntarily, and he turned his head to look at the person on his back. “Did you put on scented powder?”

Shen Jue’s face instantly turned ugly, but fortunately, his mask hid it so Yu Ci couldn’t see.

Yu Ci had smelled the fragrance on him. That scent was the natural musk emitted by a Tian Luo Body when they were deflowered by the person who broke their virginity. Since he had just left Yi Water Pavilion, the scent hadn’t faded, which was why Yu Ci had caught it.

It was said that each Tian Luo Body’s scent was different, so it wasn’t surprising that Yu Ci thought he had applied scented powder. But being asked such a question already annoyed him. Luckily, he was mute right now, or else what would he have said?

That it was the scent of his own arousal?

Shen Jue’s non-answer was taken by Yu Ci as a confirmation.

Carrying Shen Jue on his back, Yu Ci used his lightness skill to glide down the mountain, all the while muttering to himself.

This damn shorty is really lewd, even putting scented powder on himself. Could that be why Sang Xinghe protects him so much?

Yu Ci pondered seriously for a moment. He himself could never bring himself to put on scented powder. If Sang Xinghe did…

He wouldn’t really like that either.

Yu Ci returned to his courtyard and first ordered a servant to boil water.

“Wash off that scented powder on you. It stinks.” After saying that, Yu Ci walked toward his own room, tossing back a final remark. “I’ll give you the time it takes to burn one incense stick.”

When Shen Jue entered Yu Ci’s room, Yu Ci had also bathed—he had just used cold water. He was now wearing only a thin robe and sitting in front of a low table. Seeing Shen Jue come in, he beckoned, using the same gesture as before, like calling a cat or a dog.

“Damn shorty, give me a massage first, then we’ll go to bed,” Yu Ci said.

His words were really ambiguous, but neither of the two present misinterpreted them.

The Right Protector eavesdropping outside, however, felt differently.

He had just returned to the island and had finished drinking with He Queying. As he was drunkenly walking back to his own courtyard, he saw Yu Ci flash past him, carrying someone on his back. In all his years with Yu Ci, the Right Protector had never seen Yu Ci carry anyone, so his curiosity was piqued. He followed all the way to Yu Ci’s courtyard and was now lying on the roof of Yu Ci’s building.

When he heard what Yu Ci said, the Right Protector’s mind went blank.

The damn shorty—wasn’t that the Tian Luo Body called Shen Jue that He Queying had mentioned?

Wasn’t that the one the Island Master had given to Sang Xinghe?

So why was he now with the Island Master?

Could a Tian Luo Body be shared?

Right Protector: “!!!”

Their Island Master was involved in such a messy relationship between men?

No, he had to see for himself.

The Right Protector carefully lifted a tile.

Yu Ci, who had been resting with his eyes closed, suddenly opened them. His gaze shot upward, and he grabbed a teacup beside him and hurled it at a spot on the roof.

The Right Protector yelped in pain, covering his right eye, which had been hit, and fled without a sound.

The next morning, the Right Protector immediately went to find He Queying to share this big news.

He Queying did not show the expression the Right Protector had expected. Instead, he just smiled faintly. “So you came all the way here at dawn just for this? Have you had breakfast? How about you eat here with me?”

The Right Protector clicked his tongue. “Brother, did you hear what I said? The Island Master and that Sang Xinghe guy are sharing…”

He Queying interrupted him. “This concerns the Island Master’s private affairs. I think we’d better not interfere.”

The Right Protector was silent for a moment, then suddenly said, “Then why did you encourage the Island Master to wear that pink robe when he went to confess to Sang Xinghe?”

He Queying lightly brushed his fingers across his lips and revealed a mysterious smile. “Nothing special. I just thought the Island Master looked good in pink.”

Yu Ci slept for a very long time—so long that his whole body felt limp. He first stretched his neck, then slowly opened his eyes. But as soon as he opened them, he realized there was another person beside him.

It was Shen Jue.

Yu Ci’s bed was very large, but Yu Ci always slept sprawled out in a big " big " shape. To avoid touching Yu Ci, Shen Jue had curled up in a corner to sleep, his legs pulled in, making him look like a small ball. He had been too exhausted the night before and was still fast asleep. His long hair covered most of his face, revealing only a small, delicate side profile, his cheeks flushed as though stained with April peach blossom juice.

Yu Ci rarely shared a bed with anyone—it had only happened twice, both times with the same person—since no one dared to sleep in front of him.

He looked at Shen Jue’s tranquil sleeping face and felt a bit jealous that the other could sleep even longer than he could.

He straightened up slightly, took a lock of Shen Jue’s hair, and brushed it across the other’s face.

Shen Jue frowned and instinctively dodged, hiding his face under the blanket.

Seeing him dodge, Yu Ci seemed to find it amusing. He gently lifted a corner of the blanket and used the hair to tickle Shen Jue’s cheek again. This time, Shen Jue seemed to be waking up. His long lashes fluttered slightly, and then he slowly opened his eyes.

The world said that those with a Tian Luo Body were naturally beautiful, especially their blue eyes, which were like the finest sapphires or the lakes of foreign lands.

And Shen Jue’s appearance was among the top-tier of Tian Luo Bodies. If he was like a painting when asleep with his eyes closed, then with his eyes open, he seemed like a figure stepping out of a scroll, becoming vivid and alluring.

Shen Jue, just waking up, was still hazy. He only saw someone holding his hair, not realizing who it was. He frowned slightly, snatched his hair back from the other’s hand, rolled over with the blanket, and continued sleeping.

Yu Ci stared at his empty hand, stunned for a moment.

This damn shorty dared to keep sleeping right in front of him?

He snorted coldly and pulled the blanket off Shen Jue. “No more sleeping! Get up! How long are you going to stay in my bed?”

Shen Jue was so sleepy his eyes hurt. When Yu Ci pulled the blanket, he burrowed deeper into it. In the end, somehow, he ended up burrowing into Yu Ci’s arms.

Yu Ci froze. Looking down at Shen Jue, who had curled up in his arms and was still sleeping with his eyes closed, he muttered to himself.

This damn shorty isn’t trying to seduce me with such a clumsy method, is he?

Why would he seduce him?

Yu Ci suddenly thought of how Shen Jue had resolutely left Sang Xinghe’s side last night and come to him.

He could barely stand, yet he still left with him. Why?

No way…

Does this damn shorty like me?

Yu Ci’s pupils dilated a little.

If that were the case, then all of Shen Jue’s actions made sense.

The reason Shen Jue was unwilling to wait on Sang Xinghe was because he liked him.

Shen Jue refused to share a bed with Sang Xinghe and even injured him—also because he liked him.

Only Shen Jue’s massage could cure his insomnia—maybe Shen Jue had practiced for a long time specifically to help him overcome his chronic sleeplessness.

And now, because he liked him, he even shamelessly burrowed into his arms and pretended to be asleep!

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Yu Ci’s gaze toward Shen Jue instantly became much more complicated, tinged with a hint of pity from a superior toward an inferior.

But he was not going to reciprocate this affection. Definitely not!
