Chapter 49#
Kill That Gentleman (12)#
Sang Xinghe looked at the brocade box that was presented to him and raised an eyebrow in confusion. “What’s this?”
Shen Jue made a motion as if to open the box, then placed it into Sang Xinghe’s hands.
Sang Xinghe had no choice but to open the box. As soon as he did, he first saw a note inside. His slender fingers picked up the note, and his eyes skimmed over it quickly. After a moment, his expression shifted slightly. He looked at Shen Jue. “Someone asked you to deliver this?”
Shen Jue nodded honestly.
Sang Xinghe looked back at the brocade box in his hands, his expression somewhat grave. This thing was most likely something that guy Yu Ci had managed to get.
Just as Sang Xinghe was wondering what to do with the medicine, he noticed that Shen Jue’s eyes were fixedly staring at the brocade box in his hand, almost longingly. He was startled. “You… want to eat it?”
Shen Jue blinked and slowly shook his head, but his gaze didn’t leave the box.
Sang Xinghe understood. For any martial arts practitioner, a miraculous medicine that could increase inner energy was a top-notch treasure. It was normal for Shen Jue to like it. And coincidentally, he himself didn’t want to take it.
“You eat it.” Sang Xinghe handed the brocade box to Shen Jue and winked. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”
Shen Jue seemed stunned for a moment, then quickly shook his head and even took two steps back. Sang Xinghe generally didn’t change his decisions once made, so he grabbed Shen Jue’s hand and shoved the brocade box into it. “Eat it. It’s just the two of us here. Later, you can tell them that I ate it. Anyway, who knows if the medicine works except the person who takes it?”
Sang Xinghe meant that even if he didn’t take it, Yu Ci wouldn’t know.
Hearing this, Shen Jue hesitated, looking at the medicine inside the brocade box. Seeing that look, Sang Xinghe knew exactly what the other was thinking. Shen Jue probably desperately wanted to eat it, but was afraid of being caught and punished. Besides, Sang Xinghe had been absorbing a lot of Shen Jue’s inner energy these days, so giving him this medicine was no big deal.
“Eat it. It’s fine.” Sang Xinghe said gently.
Shen Jue bit his lip before taking the brocade box from Sang Xinghe’s hand. After taking it, he showed Sang Xinghe a smile. Although Shen Jue’s mask covered his face, Sang Xinghe could see those blue eyes curving into crescent moons.
Sang Xinghe found it somewhat amusing, but he also noticed that in their three previous meetings, Shen Jue had never smiled at him. Not only had he not smiled, but he had also beaten him up twice. Now that he had obtained a miraculous medicine, he was willing to give him a smile. It had to be said that Shen Jue was not only vengeful but also very pragmatic.
Although Sang Xinghe didn’t like the Tianluo physique, he knew a little about it. For instance, those with the Tianluo physique were generally gentle and lovely, especially in bed. But the Tianluo physique in front of him acted like a fighting cock every time.
Sang Xinghe shook his head helplessly. If he were to keep this Tianluo physique, he would have to find many good things to coax him in the future.
While Sang Xinghe was lost in thought, Shen Jue had already taken out the key to his mask. He handed the key to Sang Xinghe, motioning for him to unlock it, and made a gesture for him to close his eyes.
Sang Xinghe took the key, looked at the back of Shen Jue’s mask, and asked tentatively, “You want me to unlock it, and then close my eyes?”
Shen Jue nodded.
Sang Xinghe patiently did as asked. He kept his eyes closed for a while, then felt a tap on his hand. When he opened his eyes, he saw Shen Jue standing with his back to him, one hand holding his mask in place.
Seeing this, Sang Xinghe helped Shen Jue lock the mask again, but he couldn’t help asking, “Why do you always wear a mask?”
When Shen Jue saw his mask was securely in place, he turned around. Hearing Sang Xinghe’s question, he thought for a moment and then wrote on his palm.
“The island master doesn’t want you to see my face.”
After reading this, Sang Xinghe’s expression shifted slightly, as if something occurred to him. “Are you not naturally mute either?”
Shen Jue nodded.
In that instant, Sang Xinghe felt a surge of anger—anger at Yu Ci for being so cruel. Meanwhile, Shen Jue, having taken the medicine, wanted to sit down and circulate his energy. Ever since he had slept with Sang Xinghe, most of his inner energy had been drained away. His cultivation speed couldn’t keep up with the rate of absorption, which frustrated him. The Calamity Heart Technique he had been practicing earlier seemed utterly useless. Shen Jue was starting to suspect that martial arts manual might be a fake.
Shen Jue didn’t want to sit on Sang Xinghe’s bed, so he found a couch to meditate on.
He circulated his energy for a long time but felt nothing except some warmth in his lower abdomen. Shen Jue frowned, wanting to try again. But before he could, his hand was suddenly grabbed.
Sang Xinghe had somehow come to stand beside him, seemingly watching him for a while. However, once Shen Jue entered his meditative state, he completely ignored everything around him—much like practicing Taoism.
“Can you circulate your energy later?” Sang Xinghe said this with a blush. He took Shen Jue’s hand and placed it under his own lower abdomen. “I… I…”
Sang Xinghe felt very embarrassed. He didn’t want to interrupt Shen Jue’s cultivation, but the medicine’s effects couldn’t wait. Once the drug hit him, he couldn’t help staring at Shen Jue. The more he looked, the hotter his breath became. In the end, he couldn’t bear it and acted rashly.
But Shen Jue was busy testing the effects of the miraculous medicine and had no interest in that sort of thing. He pushed Sang Xinghe away and prepared to find another spot to continue his meditation. But as soon as he stepped off the couch, an arm wrapped around his waist.
The young man’s breath sprayed against his ear. “Be good. Practice later.”
…
Yu Ci sat on the rooftop of his own courtyard. He had already drunk five jugs of wine, but he still couldn’t sleep. Normally, insomnia was nothing new. But after experiencing the feeling of falling asleep last night, tonight was especially unbearable.
He kicked the empty wine jug off the roof and floated down from above.
That shorty had helped him massage his head last night, and he had fallen asleep. Tonight, he would find someone else to massage him.
Yu Ci went to the courtyard where his two Tianluo physiques were staying. They were delighted to see him. But Yu Ci didn’t even look at them. He lay down on the bed and said like a big shot, “Come over and massage me.”
One of the taller Tianluo physiques put on a flattering smile and quickly sat on the footrest by the bed. His small, fair hand reached straight for Yu Ci’s groin.
Before he could touch him, Yu Ci grabbed his hand.
“Where do you think you’re rubbing?” Yu Ci squinted. “Don’t want your hands anymore?”
The Tianluo physique trembled in fear and immediately knelt, pleading repeatedly, “Spare me, Island Master! Spare me! This lowly one will never dare again!”
Yu Ci looked at him with disgust. “Get out.” Then he turned to the other Tianluo physique, who was shaking like a sieve. “You, come here and massage.”
The Tianluo physique stiffly shuffled over and hesitated, looking at Yu Ci. “Is… Island Master, where should this lowly one massage?”
Yu Ci closed his eyes and said coldly, “Head.”
Upon hearing this, the Tianluo physique carefully began massaging Yu Ci’s head. After just a few strokes, Yu Ci frowned with his eyes closed and said, “Too light. Haven’t you eaten?”
The Tianluo physique’s hand trembled slightly, and he quickly increased the pressure. This time, Yu Ci was directly angered. He opened his eyes and kicked the Tianluo physique away. “Why are you pressing so hard? Butchering a pig? Useless! I’ve raised the two of you useless things, just wasting food. The two of you tomorrow can go and…”
He paused for a moment. These two Tianluo physiques couldn’t carry anything heavy or do any work. They were utterly useless.
“Isn’t there a piece of wasteland behind this courtyard? The two of you will cultivate that land.”
Having said that, Yu Ci stormed off in a rage.
He first returned to his own courtyard, smashing everything that displeased him. Then he practiced his sword techniques for a full half an hour, but still felt no sleepiness. By now, it was already past midnight.
Yu Ci looked at the stars in the sky, his heart filled with irritation. In the end, he couldn’t resist going to Shen Jue’s residence.
He found it empty and remembered that Shen Jue should be at Sang Xinghe’s place.
It’s past midnight. Why is he still at Sang Xinghe’s?
Yu Ci snorted coldly and immediately stormed over to Yishui Pavilion in a fury.
As soon as he entered, Sang Xinghe heard the commotion and quickly pulled the blanket over the person beneath him. Turning his head and seeing Yu Ci standing outside the bed, his face darkened like ink. “Island Master Yu, what madness has possessed you now?”
Yu Ci glanced at Sang Xinghe, then shifted his gaze to the person completely covered by the blanket. He looked back at Sang Xinghe. Facing his beloved, he suppressed his temper a little and said calmly, “Are you done yet? If you’re done, he needs to come and sleep with me now.”
Sang Xinghe: “…”
“Yu Ci, get out.” Sang Xinghe’s voice was nearly forced through his teeth. He knew Yu Ci wasn’t normal, but he never expected him to be this abnormal.
Yu Ci stood his ground, not moving an inch. He didn’t see anything wrong with his request. He felt that if Shen Jue could sleep with Sang Xinghe, why couldn’t he sleep with him? He was the island master of Shijue Island, after all.
On this island, he was the most powerful person. Everything should be done with him as the priority. He was already being extremely generous by allowing Sang Xinghe to finish first before taking Shen Jue away. He hoped Sang Xinghe wouldn’t take his favor for granted.
“I’m not leaving. Hurry up and finish. Once you’re done, I’m taking him.” Yu Ci said this with complete seriousness.
