Chapter 33#
Kill That Emperor (33)#
Murong Xiu leisurely savored the gradually souring expression on Shen Jue’s face. To be honest, he had been holding in a lot of resentment throughout this journey. He always felt that he couldn’t control the Shen Jue before him; the man had changed too much in the six years they had been apart.
His gaze landed on Shen Jue’s slender neck. Unlike the previous life, Shen Jue’s skin in this life was a wheatish color, as if it radiated the breath of sunlight. Murong Xiu thought that the rainy season in the capital was far too long—drizzly, overcast, and utterly loathsome.
Holding him close felt like the layer of gloom had been brushed away.
Murong Xiu smiled silently. So what if Shen Jue liked Ni Xinyan? He had destroyed Ni Xinyan’s pride, ruined his face, and stripped him of his power. What did Ni Xinyan have left to compete with him? If Ni Xinyan still didn’t know his place, then he would kill him again.
As for Shen Jue, he would make sure the man could never leave him.
Meanwhile, Shen Jue looked at the chaos in the room, his anger slowly building. When Murong Xiu actually leaned in to kiss him, Shen Jue exploded. He dodged away in an instant. “Your Highness, what exactly are you trying to do?”
Suddenly deprived of warmth, Murong Xiu squinted his eyes and said complacently, “Can’t you see? Emperor Wu of Han once promised to keep his beloved in a golden house. I’ll give you a room too. From now on, you’ll live here.”
Although Shen Jue had endured a thousand years of reincarnation torment—always pining after others and suffering all kinds of abuse—this was the first time someone had said they wanted to lock him up. The immortal who had cultivated for millennia was genuinely stunned.
He felt that Murong Xiu had a screw loose, and not just a little—he seemed to be getting worse.
But Murong Xiu’s madness aside, Shen Jue only needed him to willingly die by his hand. As for everything else, he didn’t care or mind.
“As I recall, Your Highness used to detest me,” Shen Jue said.
Hearing this, Murong Xiu walked over to the screen, where there were also manacles. He reached out and touched them. Most of the things here had actually been replaced. The original ones were made according to the dimensions of the Shen Jue he remembered from his past life. When he later saw Shen Jue again, Murong Xiu realized the man had changed from his previous life, so he sent a carrier pigeon back to the capital and ordered the craftsmen to redo everything that no longer fit.
“Of course I detest you. That’s exactly why I prepared this room—to humiliate you.” Murong Xiu’s face turned cold as he recalled the words he had spoken to Shen Jue in their past life. He had said he admired Shen Jue, and then Shen Jue had turned around and stabbed him. “You don’t actually think I love you, do you?”
Murong Xiu let out a sarcastic laugh, took a few steps to stand before Shen Jue, and grabbed his arm. He forced the man down into a chair and locked his hands and feet with the manacles.
Shen Jue tried to resist midway, but this life’s Murong Xiu had learned martial arts. Shen Jue couldn’t overpower him and was eventually shackled.
At this moment, Shen Jue was not happy. He looked down at the manacles on his hands, and then his chin was suddenly pinched.
Murong Xiu forced Shen Jue’s face up, saw the displeasure in his eyes, and was pleased himself.
He lowered his head, fondling Shen Jue’s chin as if playing with a toy. “Shen Jue, I advise you to take it easy. Otherwise, I’m afraid you won’t last more than a few days.”
Shen Jue pressed his lips together, the displeasure on his face gradually fading. He looked coldly at Murong Xiu. After a moment, the corners of his mouth twitched slightly. “Your Highness, why are you locking me up?”
Murong Xiu’s eyes were very bright—like stars in the dark night, dazzling and brilliant, or like a mountain stream, shimmering and sparkling. He stared intently at Shen Jue, not even blinking, as if the man before him would disappear if he so much as blinked.
He leaned in even closer to Shen Jue. “Because I want to see you resist, but be completely useless.”
Shen Jue’s expression shifted slightly at these words, because it suddenly reminded him of the youngest son of the Heavenly Emperor.
Back when that youngest son had drugged him, he had said something similar, and then Shen Jue had acted and nearly killed him.
But Murong Xiu was not the youngest son of the Heavenly Emperor.
Moreover, Shen Jue was no longer the Shen Jue of the past. As long as he could break free from this realm, he would do whatever it took.
But this thought of Shen Jue’s was very short-lived. When Murong Xiu began to undo his belt, his expression changed. “You… you…”
Poor Immortal Shen Jue was so startled by Murong Xiu that he stammered, unable to even form a complete sentence. When Ni Xinyan had undone his belt in their past life, Shen Jue hadn’t reacted much, because he hadn’t seen any lust in Ni Xinyan’s eyes. But Murong Xiu was different. At this moment, Murong Xiu’s eyes practically glowed blue, like a wolf that had been starving for too long.
“Can’t you tell what I want to do?” Murong Xiu leaned close to Shen Jue’s ear and lowered his voice. “Shen Jue, I’m going to bed you, just like I would with a woman.”
Shen Jue was stunned by these words, and in the next moment, Murong Xiu bit his lips. It was a real bite. Shen Jue was hurt by the bite and couldn’t help but inhale sharply. He struggled to turn his face away, but Murong Xiu simply cupped his face with both hands and bit down wantonly until he tasted blood. Then he forcefully pried open Shen Jue’s teeth.
Shen Jue had never been kissed so deeply before. Even in his previous realms, no one had ever been as aggressive as Murong Xiu. He was kissed until he was a complete mess. Their breaths intertwined in an ambiguous tangle, and Shen Jue couldn’t help but feel his face burning, though murderous intent was clear in his eyes.
If he had a knife right now, he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to control himself.
Actively seducing someone was one thing; being forced was another. It could only be said that Shen Jue’s form of seduction was limited to showing concern, flattering smiles, and playing innocent. But Murong Xiu didn’t want any of that. He only wanted to devour the man before him, flesh and bone, so that no one else could lay eyes on him.
Shen Jue was too inexperienced with this kind of thing. Even Murong Xiu noticed it. Underneath a faint joy, he bullied the man even more. If Shen Jue had cried, Murong Xiu would probably have been even more excited.
When Murong Xiu finally let go of Shen Jue, Shen Jue’s lips were already swollen and marked with teeth impressions. Murong Xiu rolled his eyes in satisfaction and undid his own belt. He placed the belt over Shen Jue’s eyes and said softly, “This is just the beginning.”
But after tying Shen Jue up, Murong Xiu turned around, touched his own burning ears, and couldn’t help curling his lips. His eyes darted around rapidly, as if he was thinking about what to do next.
Blindfolded, Shen Jue couldn’t see anything. He could only rely on his hearing, and this feeling was extremely unpleasant. When a hand suddenly landed on his face, his body stiffened involuntarily.
That hand began to move downward.
Shen Jue clenched his bound hands tightly. After a long moment, his breathing became erratic, and he couldn’t help speaking. “Murong Xiu, stop!”
Murong Xiu’s voice came from very close. “Why should I stop? Aren’t you a eunuch? No matter how I touch you, you shouldn’t have any reaction, right?”
Shen Jue’s current feeling was absolutely awful. So the moment his manacles were unlocked, he immediately tore off the blindfold and stood up to punch Murong Xiu. But his pants had bunched up around his ankles. He swung a punch but before he could even hit the man, he fell down first.
Murong Xiu let out a laugh and caught him, even pinching his cheek. “What are you making a fuss about?”
Shen Jue gritted his teeth and said nothing.
Murong Xiu studied Shen Jue’s expression for a moment, then pulled his pants back up. He gently kissed Shen Jue on the cheek. “Alright, don’t be angry. Let’s go have a meal first. We haven’t eaten properly all along the way. You’ve gotten thin.”
Shen Jue frowned and pushed Murong Xiu away.
At this point, the two had completely torn off their masks. Shen Jue couldn’t be bothered to pretend to be submissive anymore; he showed Murong Xiu no good face at all. Meanwhile, Murong Xiu, who had previously been harsh and irritable, now treated Shen Jue with extreme tenderness.
But this tenderness only ever came after he had thoroughly bullied Shen Jue.
For seven whole days, Shen Jue stayed in that room. Murong Xiu would lock him up from time to time, and when he unlocked him, it was only to hold the man in his arms. His incessant kissing made Shen Jue deeply disgusted. He kept thinking about how he could kill Murong Xiu without the man becoming resentful.
“What are you thinking about?” Murong Xiu asked abruptly, looking at the person in his arms.
Shen Jue lowered his eyes. After a long pause, he said, “I’m thinking about when I’ll be able to get out.”
The smile on Murong Xiu’s face immediately faded. He squinted his eyes. “Isn’t it good to stay here? I come to keep you company every day.”
Shen Jue turned his head to look at Murong Xiu and tugged at the thin robe he was wearing. “Would Your Highness be willing to dress like this and let people play with you as they please?”
Murong Xiu suddenly laughed again. He licked his lips. “If you want, I can. But that thing of yours doesn’t react, so there’s nothing I can do about that, right?” The rest of his words became almost slurred. “Besides, I never actually went inside. You said it hurt, so I stopped.”
Shen Jue was furious and immediately started fighting Murong Xiu.
The palace attendants in Qizhang Hall had already grown accustomed to the clattering sounds coming from that room.
Murong Xiu didn’t drug Shen Jue. Every time, the two would fight until Shen Jue was exhausted. Then Murong Xiu would easily pin him down, wearing a satisfied smile on his face.
He seemed to thoroughly enjoy Shen Jue’s struggles, or perhaps he liked seeing Shen Jue angry—the angrier, the better.
After a month of this, Shen Jue stopped fighting. He couldn’t defeat Murong Xiu anyway, and he didn’t want to see the expression on the man’s face every time he pinned him down. He let Murong Xiu do whatever he wanted, only frowning slightly when he couldn’t bear it anymore.
Murong Xiu seemed somewhat displeased by this. He paced around the room like a restless, agitated dog, casting dark glances at Shen Jue from time to time.
Shen Jue lay facing the wall. Even when his clothes were pulled down off his shoulder, he couldn’t be bothered to pull them back up. If Murong Xiu wanted to look or touch, he could—Shen Jue didn’t care.
His utter listlessness finally drove Murong Xiu away in a huff.
Murong Xiu stormed out of Qizhang Hall, but not long after, the chief eunuch of the emperor rushed up to him. “Sixth Prince, you must come with me quickly. His Majesty urgently wishes to see you.”
“What about?” Murong Xiu asked.
The eunuch clicked his tongue. “It seems to be about the state of Yong.”
Murong Xiu frowned. What could have happened in Yong? Hadn’t he already taken care of everything there?
When he arrived before the emperor, a memorial was hurled directly into his face.
“What the hell have you been doing? Staying holed up in your palace all day, skipping morning court—and now something major has happened, and you don’t even know about it. I think I should have that slave of yours executed!” The emperor was livid, cursing Murong Xiu outright. “You depraved excuse for a son!”
Murong Xiu picked up the memorial from the ground and said calmly, “Father, didn’t you promise me that as long as I dealt with the Prince of Yong, I could do whatever I wanted with the rest?”
“Yes, I promised you that. But that old bastard Ni Yuanshan didn’t die at the hands of the people of Yong, and his son has become a general in Yong! Did you know that?” the emperor roared. “They’ve already refused the marriage alliance and the establishment of diplomatic relations! I told you to just kill Ni Yuanshan outright, but you insisted on ruining his reputation instead of killing him. Now he’s turned around and is preparing to attack us!”
